Is it a high pitched noise you are asking about..?? Probably a fan belt slipping.. Or is it burning oil That concerns you?? Or is it fuel getting into the oil that concerns you ?? 328I.. does it have the 6 cyl engine? one of the most dependable and long lived engines ever made..

It sounds like a malfunctioning caliper. Look through your wheels and see if the rotors are bluing (excessive heating).

hello there

Thats interesting considering these BMW auto boxes have about 10 quarts of oil in them, when chainging the trans oil not all of it comes out but it should be at least 5/6 quarts. You need to get the oil level checked asap.

Hope this helps, please don't forget to rate me.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 BMW 325. My car keeps shutting off,

Ok if you are not getting any other warning or service light coming on that means you do not have any electronic sensors or equipment faulty which is good news as it will cost less to fix..By the sound of it it seems that you may have a dirty petrol flow system which is anything running from the petrol tank to combustion chamber.I would suggest you buy reddex which is a petrol treatment solution and use it.Read instructions and at first you may get a bit of smoke coming out of the exhaust but this is normal. Also if that does not solve the problem, have the carburator checked if it has any, which I can't personally remember if it's an injector or spark system. You may need to clean the whole system and also check air intake controller and engine idle speed regulator(if it has one) which sometimes get dirt and mess the engine at idle speed which is what you seem to be getting.Hope this help.

Clutch noise

Bearing noises in a clutch system are easily distinguished by running a few simple tests. Start the engine and leave the transmission in neutral. If a transmission makes noise when it is in neutral it is often a worn input shaft bearing. Now depress the pedal until the clutch just engages. This is the point where the release bearing is just contacting the pressure plate fingers. If you begin to hear a squealing sound this is likely a worn release bearing. If a whirling noise is present when the clutch pedal is fully depressed it is probably the pilot bearing.

the high pitch noise leads me to believe a problem with the hyudraulic clutch. Have you checked the level? also with manuals you dont have tranny fluid, you have gear oil; which is very unlikely that needs changing

High pitched electronic/dentist drill sound when accelerating.

Probably the front differential, your probably hearing the famous differential gear whine. Change the oil, put Lucas for gears in it. You can get a hand operated oil pump to **** it out through the dip stick if it has one. Then fill it with the recommended amount.
