Yes, chances are they are identical. The Denali possibly has an aluminum shaft but there is no reason that you cannot interchange.

Check to see if the power steering pump is still turning. If you have a broken drive belt (serpentine belt or "fan" belt), and the pump doesn't turn, you have no power assist. If the pump is still turning, check the fluid level in the reservoir.

Mark your drive shaft coincidenly with the rear axle and tranny. Remove drive shaft. Press out the old u joints and press in the new. You will need a torch for heat and a lot of patience. Have fun!

What causing the very hard loud banging noise in the rear end or in the driveline

Is there someone trapped in your trunk?
Could be your differential. Don't drive as it will really damage things.
If you are lucky its just a bad bearing on the drive shaft , those X things Universal joint. .
See u-tube on how to test a U joint.
There are needle bearings on all 4 ends of U joint.

So she said "whats a joint like you doing in a car like this??"

When putting truck in reverse 2001 yukon sle clunk noise in transfer case

double check u-joints before suspecting internal problem with transfeer case. Coupling between transmission and transfeer case could be worn, as well as rear slip joint on tail shaft. If not rebuilding the transfeer case yourself, get plenty of refferences before hiring some one to overhall transfercase. InMrFixIt

I cannot get the bolts loose that hold the caliper on.

Try an open-ended wrench (on my 2001 Yukon XL on the rear, it was a 5/8") that is just inside the bolt head (bolt retainer) on the caliper -both top and bottom bolt. If you have that same config, the bolt retainer is just spinning when you are turning the bolt head. The wrench will allow you to put leverage on the retainer, and the bolt will come out quickly, as it is a short bolt.

4LO problem

Sounds like you may have a problem with the power steering pump. Notorious for these pumps shaft to break, causing "armstrong" power steering. As far as the 4wd low problem, ick.
