a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

SOURCE: replacing car stereo in a 2008 Jeep Patriot

It is pretty easy if you have a few tools and know how to use them.

1-You need to pry off the trim bezel. There are just snaps holding it on, but be careful you do not pull too hard or scratch it. Use a plastic stick or small srewdriver covered with tape.

2-There will be 4 bolts at each corner of the radio to remove.

3-Pull out the radio and and remove all the connectors and the AM/FM antenna plug.

4-Reconnect your new radio and repeat steps 2 and 1.

I did this same upgrade on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it worked without the need for a theft code.

I would have it scanned by an auto parts store, to see what the code says, then get a service manual, cheap ones are at promanuals.net

Have you checked your owners manual... also look on the core support as you open the hood for a diagram. They are usually mounted there and possibly on the strut tower or under the hood. Also try your local library or parts store for a manual. I hope this helps you

There are several combinations listed. You may have to look at the other combos.
For example, here is a 2L w/ Multiple Accessory, w/A.C. (CVT):

Quand changer timing belt sur jeep patriot 2008?

OMG , my translator says this is
Frechlish,
french
Quand changer = "when to chaNGE' ok
that was fun to decode.
are you in France?
We here in usa have like 3 engines
and there, 5 and diesels, one can say EU is
diesel city,no?
all our jeeps usa (but 2.4L)are chains or gears.
all of our belts are 60km miles or 100kmetes.
if we use GATEs belts or real JEEP
fleabay belts, china junk? "funny names" way less.

so take the tests:
1; where are you, country not IP address
2: gas or diesel
3; size engine, in liters,

or use real name for engine, jeep'

my guess, NO BELT ON THE CAMS
there in Europe, gas (petrol engine)
if diesel, nows that time to say.

Single knock sound from dead stop or when slowing down

I had the same problem on a brand new 2008 JEEP Patriot. The solution after 2 trips to the dealer was to tighten all the suspension bolts in the front. Note wether your problem is in the front or rear and go to the dealer.
