SOURCE: 2000 F550 7.3 LITER HIGH IDLE DOES NOT WORK ON

Have you checked the idle control sensor? Have you adjusted the idle? It may be a bad map sensor. Usually, if it is a map sensor, it will dies occasionally.

Sounds like a problem with the transmission. Your problem could be caused by a number of things related to the tranny but I would try change the Trans fluid and filters first. Costs around 100 at your local transmission repair shop.

Why does my 2000 7.3 only run on left bank?

check the codes for faults
Some engines ( international for example ) idled on 4 cylinders and the rest cut in on power or rpm's requirement
If your engine has the same set up the fault will be in that control unit

Truck starts but will not idle

IT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE INTAKE GASKETS. FORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE GASKETS GOING BAD. IF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND GIVING YOU CODES PO171 AND PO174 I WOULD CHECK THE GASKETS BY SPRAYING CARB. CLEANER AROUND THE INTAKE WHILE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. IF THE IDLE SPEEDS UP THEN THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM.
