Hi Sharon, I'm glad to help. The 2000 Dakota came with a cable operated Temperature Door and some times the door would get out of adjustment or break. You need to remove the radio so you can see the cable, then move the temperature slider on the control head while watching the cable if it doesn't move then you'll either need a new cable or its came loose somewhere. Check both ends of the cable and make sure they are attached. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Sharon.

2000 dodge caravan heater blowing cold air only car does not overheat

Feel the heater hoses where they go through the firewall. If they're both hot but you're not getting any heat, your blend door is not moving to mix heated air with unheated air. It could be the blend door actuator not working or the HVAC control unit not working.

2000 ford f150 no heat change heater core and thermostat cold air help!!

Sounds like you may have a blend door issue in the heater box. Ford had a replacement inner box to help with the problem. The door was hinged on a plastic pivot which would break. Some also had electric motors that would strip the gears inside the unit and not move the blend door to the heat position.

Truck will not switch ac to heat is it the switch or something else

Air Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat or no AC (dependes on where door sticks)

In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.

Other causes of no heat in the cabin are engine thermostats that are stuck open (engine runs cold) or air bubbles in the cooling system.

Heat come out of one side of dash or ac nothing out of rt side is a vac module not working?

I guess if this was the 1970's or 1980's a vacuum motor could be the problem - same principle. However, on your 2002 Dodge Dakota, the HVAC system is completely electronically controlled. You most likely have either a bad actuator motor or a broken mode door or blend-air door on the passenger side.

Have a 1998 dodge caravan blows cold only new thermastst flushed system new anti freeze help

Most likely the problem is a broken blend door inside the heater box or a broken adjuster cable going to the blend door, the blend door inside the heater box is responsible for heater output depending on your temp adjustment on your heater control panel, most likely the blend door is stuck in the cold position allowing cold air to come through the vents verses allowing the blower motor to blow warm air past the hot heater core to produce heat, check the temperature adjuster cable behind your heater controls and make sure its connected and not broken, lastly make sure the blend door isnt broken and operating freely.

Not getting much heat from the heater.

have u checked the heater core inlet and outlet hose's are the hot, one hot side one cool indicates a plugged up core. if that is ok u may have a stuck air temperature control blend door in the dash air distribution system, also make sure your engine reaches at least 180 deg F.
