It most likely has a timer built into the computer. The reset is a braking sequence: most commonly is turn key to on position, pump gas three times. Key off, start car. I would advise to check you fluid levels and make sure you replaced the drain plug and everything else tightly.

If you replaced the fluid with the proper type (NOT ENGINE OIL) the transmission system has to be checked by someone equipped to determine the problem - before it fails.

SOURCE: How to reset Service 4wheel drive warning light on 2005 ChevTahoe

I have a 2005 Tahoe that recently had a similar problem. To resolve, I did the following.

  1. Change the transfer case fluid (Which you already did)
  2. Change Gears to 4L while in neutral, change back to drive, and drive slowly 50 yards or so.
  3. Change Gears to 4H while in neutral, change back to drive, and drive slowly 50 yards or so.
  4. Change Gears to 2H while in neutral, change back to drive, and drive normally for a couple of miles.
This will cycle the fluid within your transfer case, and hopefully clean out the sensor. I did this, and my Service 4WD light went away after one day of normal driving. Hope this helps. Note: When I went into 4L the first go around, it had a hard time shifting due to non use. I changed between 4H and 4L a few times until it got smoother.

2007 GMC Yukon Denali engine reduced power

there are 2 conditions that will trigger this SAFE MODE that the engine is running in. The first is transmission over temperature when the sensor in the transmission senses over-temp situation it reduces engine output to no more than 1500 rpm. The second is low oil level in the engine, which will also limit engine rpm to 1500. One of those sensors is bad or the wiring for one of them is damaged. This SAFE MODE is designed to protect the engine or transmission from further damage.

just look for the blackened/burned pin on the rear light plastic connector and sand it down to re-establish a good electrical connection and save yourself $800 big ones on replacing the multiswitch.

Hello, if you are losing coolant as you say than the most probable place is through your head and into your exhaust system, it is highly likely you have a cracked head or a major head gasket leak. The only other place it can go is if you have a automatic vehicle with the cooler on the bottom of the radiator tank (crack between two tanks), it will go straight into your transmission, you can tell if the transmission oil is overfull and watery (thin and whitish).

That is most likely the case, hopefully it just needs transmission fluid. It does give a warning when the fluid is low. I would certainly start with that.

My 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan makes Whining Noise

Depending on your mileage, if the transmission is mounted side ways (Front wheel Drive) the upper or top, or rear mount can wear out. This causes the engine and transmission to twist binding the linkage on the transmission, However I have not see a 2007 and if it was bad the drive train should still be under warranty if it's not over 100,000 miles. The tork on the other mounts could cause this noise you are speaking of. Also they use oil filled mounts to isolate the engine pulses so when the oil leaks out the motor mount goes metal to metal. However I think the brakes not holding tight so in theory a motor mount could cause this could cause it. A way to test it is put the transmission in forward gear then reverse if it makes a clunking sound then you have some wear somewhere. If you have another person put it in forward and reverse and watch the engine you can find where the noise is coming from. However I will see if it is listed as an after market part and give you a link that you can look at and the price for each. After looking at one of the mounts this may not be your problem here is the link and the price for one of the mounts.
