Interesting, ricky ? could b anything. fuel filter needs changed, the fuel we use today is garbage, ethanol is bad for our older engines. add some of that new dirt to tank, something360. ??? also, maybe a wire connection is loose., or bad spark plug wires? something is missing its continuity , making the engine miss, not your transmission, u hope ? start with checking your battery conn., clean, tight, etc., replace plug wires, change spark plugs, maybe ? but your plug wires could b the problem. ??? think about it, engine starts ok, its when its running does the problem come up. you have fuel, you need spark, you also need clean air .......... change air filter....... pcv valve......egr valve ?? could b sticking ......you treat yourself good, yes? treat your engine good...whens last time the transmission fluid and filter was changed ??? that could also cause a miss, a surge......yes? i hope this helps you ricky, just use common sence, it always serves me well, good luck, ken

I would to know if a bad transmission speed sensor can cause the car to jerk when you shift into drive or reverse

Hard to tell without knowing what year, make, and model of vehicle we are working on here. A speed sensor would not cause this, but bad engine or trans mounts could, or possibly a sticking valve body in the transmission.

When you reconnect battery how much time does it take for cpu to program itself ?

All makes & models are different. You have to drive the car at several miles high speed, than several miles low speed & repeat the process. That usually covers most vehicle. But just drive normally at high & low speeds and soon enough you'll be good to go. Does not do the clock & radio for you. That your on your own.

Car jerks hard taking off

Since you\'re old school I would think you\'ve already checked the normal stuff like the fluid level in the transmission. If this is good, has the transmission ever been serviced? I\'m not familiar with your vehicle so if it has a filter it could be that is partially clogged, Does the fluid have a strong smell to it? Does is feel absolutely smooth or can you feel or see little flecks of something in it. You may solve this by dropping the pan and replacing the filter. But if that is the problem it will only be temporary as if there is debris in the pan you are ready for a rebuild. The sooner you do it, the better before you have hard part damage. Another possibility is a bad solenoid in the tramsission that isn\'t sensing the pressure until it is high enough to jerk when it kicks into gear. Again to even check this though you need a transmission guy to pull it and look it over. Sorry guy.

Honda element 03. Normally starts up at 1,000 rpm in park and shifts into drive smoothly. Sometimes starts up b/w 1.5 and 2k rpm at idle and JERKS into drive or reverse.Solutions?

Cars not control choke themselves electronically, this is likely the car trying to warm itself up quickly. The jerking will occurs anytime you shift into gear at an RPM over a low idle as the torque converter is being engaged. If the high idle last more than a couple of minutes then you might have an issue.

Car jerks when you shift gears

If that oil is transmission fluid, you may be low on fluid. That would cause harsh shifts. Make sure your transmission is full.
Is it just reverse and drive that ****? Do second and third shift smooth? If so, you may have a too-high idle.
If idle is good, and your transmission didn't get low on fluid, then I would suggest you drain and refill the transmission, and install a new transmission filter while you have the bottom pan off. Usually, you can buy a filter and pan gasket as a kit.

Speeds of 60 or above my car feels wobbly.sometimes my throttle cable (?) gets stuck so my car will be at a stop but the engine is still accelerating and lately it's sounds kind of like it puttering w

normally your engine should not cause your car to wobble, however a misfire can cause this to happen, as far as your throttle cable, you need to replace it and check the transmission kick down cable (co located with throttle cable) replace if necessary. The jerking when shifting is probably due to incorrectly adjusted kick down cable, when adjusted correctly the transmission with shift smooth. Hope this helps, let me know
