SOURCE: My car cuts off at times right after it is cranked. At other times when stopped at a stop light but starts back up. Also, when driving it is hesitating and jerking.

It sounds like you have a bad MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor). This is in your air inlet tube, pull this out and check to see if there is any corrosion on it. If is one that has a coiled exposed wire, then ensure that the wire is not broke.

SOURCE: 2002 Nissan Altima 3.5 "Choking & Jerking"

I just had the same problem with my '02 altima SE.
Took it to Buckeye Nissan in Hilliard OH. and they had to replace the two crank sensors which.
The sensors themselves were about $44.00 a piece, but w/labor about $300.00 was the total. Hope this helps.....Now if I can just get the heater working!

Nissan Altima wont start

Check simplest things first. Make sure battery cables are tight and free of corrosion. You could be getting enough power to light up your dash but not enough to crank the engine.

Where is my leak coming from?

Juan, Oil could be leaking from a lot of different location, places to start looking are oil pressure switch, valve cover gasket, timing cover/crank seal, oil pan gasket, etc. Engine may have to be washed down to locate leak. Have a good tech. scan vehicle for trouble codes, diagnose why car dose not run and estimate repair. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

What is causing my car to show the oil light when oil is enough and why does the car **** or try to cut off during driving

It sounds like the oil pressure is low. If the car has high mileage, this may be either a failed oil pump or a clogged oil pickup, or may be a clogged oil filter. You will need to drop the oil pan and see what is happening. IMPORTANT: If you attempt to drive the vehicle with a low oil pressure condition, the engine may seize, rendering the reason for the low oil pressure academic.

What causes the oil light to come on though there is enough oil in the engine?

Hi Joseph, Some vehicles hav two lights for oil, one being oil level and the other being the pressure. The oil pressure light is the most common found on just about all internal combustion engines and I think common on the Nissan. If the oil pressure light is coming on it may be a defective sender switch, or low oil pressure. If when you start the engine when cold, a rattling sound can be heard, better take the vehicle to a workshop and let them advise you of the cost of repair. If the engine is quiet then you likely have a defective switch. Regards John

Oil is leaking getting into the cylinders which is being burnt which is causing the white smoke from the exhaust. You might have compression problems or worn valves.

The engine seems to have oil, but the light is on in my 1995 nissan altima

The oil light means you have low oil pressure but not necessarily low oil.
Low oil pressure can lead to serious engine problems and should be fixed right away.
