1999 Saab 9-5 AC/heater blower fan not working

I have a 1999 Saab 9-5, when I turn on the A/C or heater there is no air coming from the vents. There is only a little air coming from the vents when I am going at some speed. Does that mean that the blower fan is broken, or could it be the control unit or just a fuse? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Mine does tre same. I changed the relay, blower motor, fuse still nothing also checked if I was getting power I was then I decided to try and ground it it worked it only works on high all the time even if I turn it on low. I spliced the wire right behind my relay. I must have bypassed something for it to run constantly on high. I will try the ground elsewhere .but the heat and air works for now

Not familiar with Saab at all, but on every other car made, if you smell coolant inside the car and a fog covers the windows, the heater core needs to be replaced. Depending on the design of the heater box that contains your blower motor and heater core, leaking coolant may be destroying your blower motor, and causing the noises and metal smell.

Hello, I have a 1999 saab 9-3 when I turn the fan on it only blows from the floor vents, no defrost or front, fan does work

You may have an air-mix door that is not functioning properly. It isn't operating to allow air flow to change direction and go through the other vent locations.

1. A trap door can simply be jamed.
2. You could have a bad vacume hose/connection, some use a vacume to open and close trap doors. Particularly from the floor vent to the upper vents
3. Some use electrical componets, an actuator to open and close doors.

This is very likely an easy repair.

99 saab 9-5. hot air is coming through the vents but it isn't being blown through if that makes sense. What could be at fault?

your heater fan could be out if it seems like the hot air is kind of "seeping" out of your vents

99 SAAB 9-5 PROBLEM WITH AC....AC IS WORKING.. CONDENSING WITH NO PROBLEMS ...WATER RUNNING OUT UNDER CAR..PRESSURES ARE 225 HI 35 LOW... NOT GETTING COLD AIR INSIDE...LUKE WARM ON DRIVERS, AND COOLER...

OK, most cars have heater cores that get hot but the blender door directs air away from this core in the a/c mode when you want cool air from the evaporator.

I'm not sure if there is a control valve which stops the water from going through the heater valve.

I think the part is called a 'heater blend door actuator' that you are after.

I have a 1999 Saab 9-5. The fan blower doesn't

The fan is located under the windsheild wipers. The windsheild wipers will have to be removed. Then remove the plastic shroud and wiper motor and assembly. The fan is located in the middle under the windsheild. If your feeling the AC you can check the stepping units located on the AC unit behind the front console under the dash.....KEH

Blower for AC/heat not working on Saab 9-3 ARC

that happened to me there is a i guess u can call it a fan cooler it keeps the fan from overheating and if that blows on a hot day it can mess up your blower moter but if its not workin at all you most likely allready did that for this job the blower moter is located behind the glove box if you not half dumb its a job u can do yourself and save a looooot of money on labor
