Coil packs are right over the spark plug. Just unscrew it and pull it off.

Not getting spark in #1 & #4 cylinder

Since both one and 4 are fired using the same coilpack if the location of the coilpack is easy to get to you can swap it with the 3/2 coil pack and see if the miss moves to 3/2 thus eliminating the ignition module and related circuits and confirming the coil is faulty

Whereis the number 5 coilpack located

I will tell you an easy way to find out. If your car is a v-8 or v-6 that is not FW drive. V-8 will be the third coil pack from the front on. V-6 will be the last one on the driver side. FW drive or not, if you are unsure. Put some water in a spray bottle and spray your exhaust manifolds on each cylinder. Do not spray the coil pack! Spray it while the car is running. The water should evaporate instantly. If the water does not evaporate on one of the cylinders on the manifold. That will be your bad coil pack above it.

HOW DO YOU CHECK TO SEE WHICH COIL PACK IS BAD ON THE CAR?

To check the coilpack just get a test light ground it some where on the block then press the the test light on the head of each wire at the coilpack. You should hear a change in the way the car idles, if you get to one of the wires and the idle does not change, that is the cylinder that is giving you the problem; but it could be dead cylinder and not the coil pack.

In other words...
1. Set the dial on your voltmeter to "Ohms."
2. Touch one of the leads on the voltmeter to one of the electrical terminals on the coil pack. There are two terminals: one on the top of the coil pack and one on the bottom. It does not matter which lead from the voltmeter touches which terminal on the coil pack. Then, touch the other lead on the voltmeter to the other terminal on the coil pack.
3. Check the resistance. The display on the voltmeter should read between "0.0" and "0.05" Ohms. If it reads higher than "0.05" Ohms, then you need to replace the coil pack.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

Location of crank postion sensor on 87 olds cutlass cierra 2.5 4 cyl???

actually the dang thing is bolted to the underside of the control module beneath the two coil packs - it all comes out as one unit and the sensor inserts into the engine block - it is invisible until you remove the coilpack/control module unit

2000 subaru forester ignition coil wiring

Are there any other possible problems, or you are just not receiving spark at all now?

The coilpack could be dead and just need replaced. If you have a voltmeter or a test light, check the wiring on both sides of the coilpack harness to make sure it is receiving power.
I don't believe Subaru used ignitors past '99, but if they did, your should be located on the firewall behind the throttle body. Make sure it's plugged in and receiving power.

Coil packs do go bad from time to time. I had to replace mine in my
'98 Impreza a while back.

Goodluck!

My 1998 ford escort won't get sprk through cylinder 1 and 4

Make sure cam and crank sensor are active. pcm must see these signals before allowing primary part of coil pack to energize. crank sensor will be possible suspect, usually located on engine to bell housing. flexplate or flywheel is the reluctor wheel or like a shutter wheel for the sensor to identify the position of crank for spark delivery. see if you have voltage at harness to coilpack with key on? if not you have another problem.
