If the red light on dash is on constantly, it's in theft mode.if nothing has been replaced, maybe you got a new key, you'll need 2 keys that are programmed to the car...if you do have 2 keys and want to add another, simply put in first programmed key turn on until light goes out, do the same with second programmed key and then put in the new key and wait for light to go out.this will program new key. If you don't have 2 programmed keys, it has to be done with computer at dea

SOURCE: my car won't start, have

Absolutely! If the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) "thinks" you are trying to steal the car, it is SUPPOSED to keep it from starting. The problem is that the PATS thinks you are a car theif when you are not.
Below is a table straight out of the service manual for your vehicle. Please note that the FIRST action that must be taken for any PATS system malfunction is to scan the computer system for fault codes.

SOURCE: 2003 ford ranger theft light blinking and won't start

the anti-theft has been activated and needs to be reset.you may have to get it to a shop that has the tools to do this or go to the dealer to get it done.did you use a key that was cut as a spare and doesn`t have a chip in it.this usually can cause this.also if the wires at the switch break it can activate the anti-theft system.

SOURCE: antitheft device wont shut off car wont start

You will need to see the dealer and have the system scanned for faults, this can't be fixed at home.

The security light is a visual indication that something in the car's antitheft system is failing. In most GM cars and trucks there is a hidden system that most people are unaware even exists. From the moment you put your key in the ignition, there begins a constant line of communication between your key's security chip or transponder, to the ignition's lock cylinder, and then to the car's TDM (Theft Deterrent Module). These 3 parts are in CONSTANT communication. If the key is in the ignition, then these parts are sending signals to each other. The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, even just for a second. When the signal breaks, the car misinterperates this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. The car thinks its being stolen or hotwired because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. This link explains it pretty well.

try with the antitheft bypass.
the problem seems to be the door switches which are not working giving fasle alarm to anti theft device. use contact cleaners on the door switch with the cabin light active on door open. you may then evaluate wether working or not. check all the doors one by one

Chevy Malibu LS (V6-3.1 L) won't start or starts up and IMMEDIATELY dies, how can I diagnose the problem?

Your car starts and dies due to the failing antitheft system. Your vehicle is not receiving the "fuel enable" signal that it needs to keep running. So the injectors get turned to off to prevent theft. You will need to diagnose which part of the antitheft system is failing. Or bypass the entire security system. This link will help you understand the problem, and depending on the year of your vehicle, possibly a good bypass solution.

Have an Oldsmobile 1997 Achieva security light stays on and won't everyhing but still won't start , would like to know would the Pro VATS Full Bypass work on it.

If the security light is on, then you have a failed antitheft system. This light is only for this. If you bypass the system, your car will work perfectly again.
