Question about 2005 Jaguar S-Type
Can I use a front mount intercooler on my car? 2005 Jaguar S Type R 4.2L V8 supercharged
Check this out with performance shops as there may be an intercooler that fits straight in. You may have to get brackets in a kit or make them yourself. The problem will the routing of the intercooling hoses to and from the turbo/manifold . Front mounted intercooler are more efficient at cooling the air so the only problem I can see apart from the engineering side of fitting it is that you may have to have a speed shop with a chassis dyno reprogram the CPU to get the best performance from the cooler more dense air.

The SP250 would not be your getaway car!! Optimum cruising speed is about 55mph. Beware of rust on this model. My fathers one had a small spot at the bottom of the drivers door, in 6 months in a irish winter had it spread very quickly, They rust as quick as the BJ40 70's toyota land cruisers. If as you say you need something that will run reliably, i would go for something that you can inspect the service history. If you have no proof other than the word of the seller that all this work was done on the car in the past 15 -20 years, ask for it, Ask for garage receipts, parts lists etc. If the seller cant produce them, Then generally avoid! If he can produce this stuff, ask him why he is selling it, you might get yourself a good buy there.
When you go to see the car make sure the engine is cold first
When you go to start it turn the ignition on, wait for all the gauges and ticking to stop before hitting the start button on the dashboard
Check floor and boot for rust
Check behind the front bumper for rust too, If the door cards are loose have a look behind them for rust inside the doors.
Let the engine warm up. Rev it hard and check for smoke. If it is blue, its burning oil. If it's black a tune up is needed

SOURCE: jaguar x type washer failure
it is more likely the wiper switch has bad contacts or the washer pump is defective, go to the pump and have someone hold wash and check for a 12 volt sigal at the washer fluid pump, if no siganl replace the wiper/washer switch, and if u do have the signal at the pump then the pump is defective.

You may have a minor leak in the turbo seals. This will allow oil to seep at low boost conditions. Mind your oil level. As long as you keep the iol level corrct and your not loosing boost at high rpm, you can limp this for a while.
Your turbo will eventually go out completely.
Also try to get some long high rpm runs daily to help prevent the oil pooling in the innercooler.
