It sounds like a push rod is knocking. Need to have it checked by a qualified mechanic. Check the oil level. It could be a major problem for you if you keep driving it without taking it to someone.

SOURCE: Makes a knocking noise when the RPM's get high

My mustang is doing the same thing. I am pretty sure its a bent rod in mine. I changed the oil, opened the old oil filter and found a lot of pieces of metal. My car would do the same thing as i accelerated the knocking would get louder

SOURCE: loud banging noise frome rear of car

Were the rear muffler tailpipe hangers checked for being broken or missing? even Engine mounts will cause this and because it does making a left turn you would want to check out the right rear one especially and of course if needed replace all of them...also meaning the hangers for the exhaust system..

SOURCE: I have a 99 mustang gt & I know it needs

your description is not clear. the throwout and pilot bearing only work when the pedal is depressed. and dont make knocking noises, so rule that out. If the noise is when the car is moving and in gear, the trans maybe bad. makes noise in all gears at 2200 rpm? trans needs to come apart.

You probably have a bad pilot brg or problem with the clutch and/or alignment. Hopefully the transmission isn't damaged from trying.

Oil light comes on when warmed up and makes slight knocking noise on a 2000 sunfire. what is the cause?

It's most likely low oil pressure. This should be checked out by using a mechanical guage, assuming you have checked the oil level and it is full. This is likely a result of high mileage and old age so unless the engine is in pristeen shape, your best bet is to probably start using a higher viscosity oil, like 15W40 or 20W50. Putting a new oil pump in an old motor isn't normally cost efficient. You put the pump in and then you start fixing other things. The heavier will build your pressure and make the knocking noise go away for a while. It's time to consider your options. Hope this helps.

Knocking knoise under 1500 rpm

If your car has hydraulic tappets and low low oil pressure at engine speeds then it can make tapping noises. Oil pressure is needed to maintaine the tappets clearances, excessive cleaeances will produce noises.

I have heard a knocking noise in my engine for the past year, and it was knocking when I purchased it. Is it likely to be a rod knock, or would have the engine failed by now.

Well, if the knocking noise is like once a second, it could be a camshaft bearing.
Some engine builders consider a knocking in the engine as a failure in the engine and recommend a rebuild, if economically possible.

How does it drive?

Knocking noise under the hood when the car goes past 2000 RPM

check for oil pressure posibly not good if its a progressive knock with acceleration it may be defective engine bearings, or a stretched timing chain, go to a local shop if it is any of both you will need a good mechanic to make the job, i hope it helps please rate

It sounds like a bad clutch or clutch cable that is either stretched or out of adjustment! Or a hydrolic clutch line that has gone bad!
