SOURCE: 1997 SUZUKISIDEKICK OBD LOCATION

it should be located within 12 inches of your steering wheel under the dash, so that you can see it from a kneeling position r it may be located behind the ashtray. Yes on some makes and model you need to remove the ashtray. The connector is a16 pin lug in.

What diagnostic socket have I got, after diagnostic tool

Question doesn't make sense. Explain more fully. What diagnostic tool do you have? I've never heard of a diagnostic socket. Do you mean the OBD connector? All models from 1996 on use a universal connector, called an OBD-II connector. On Board Diagnostics- since 1996, all vehicles sold in the USA are required to have the same connector. Fits any OBD scanner or code reader.

Where is the diagnostic port located on a 2000 fiat marea

on a 99 2.0 model you will have 2 diagnostic ports. both of them will be the fiat 3 pin type.

to connect the 3 pin fiat connector to a 16 pin obd2 connector you need 4 lengths of wire. use 3 lengths of wire to connect the 3 pin connector to the obd connector. also use 1 length of wire for power to the obd connector.

on the 16 pin obd2 connector use the following pins
4- chassis ground (connect to ground on 3 pin connector, or any good chassis earth)
5- signal ground (connect to black wire pin on 3 pin connector)
7- k line (connect to white wire pin on 3 pin connector)
16- 12vDC (connect to battery positive terminal)
