Can I use an ac fluid pressure sensor from a different year since they discontinued the part for 2000 Durango 5.9l?

What part can I use to substitute for the ac fluid pressure sensor that goes into the expansion valve since the 2000 Durango part has been discontinued?

Maybe, consult you're local auto parts store and ask them the difference between the years. Sometimes the differences are so minute, the don't matter, sometimes they do.

SOURCE: 2004 DODGE DURANGO, 5,9L ENGINE

the message is appearing because a sensor in the transmission, usually in the transmission fluid, detects higher than normal temperatures which is usually a result of increased friction which isnt good. I would get the sensor checked before you get the transmission worked on.

SOURCE: Can't find rear a/c expansion valve, where is it

I am in the process of doing the same procedure on my 2001 durango 5.9... condensor, compressor, accumulator, followed by both front and rear expansion valves. I pulled the rear passenger side trim off after following the pipes to the back. It looks like the expansion vale is the first component hooked to the pipes just as they come through the body into the cabin. It appears to be wrapped in a black sticky mat... I did not unwrap yet so it may not be... What are your failure symptoms? I have a slow leak and a blockage inside the system to where it cannot be fully charged without releasing pressure from the rear of the compressor. I sure hope its not in the evaporator core...

You'll need to make sure you have spark to the plugs, then try spraying starting fluid into the throttle body to substitute for fuel.
If it will start on starting fluid, you would need to check fuel pressure with a gauge, and check the injectors for power and ground pulse.

Location of low pressure port on 2000 dodge durango

I am not 100% sure, but it should be on the passenger side, There is a aluminum line that runs up to where the radiator is to the AC compressor. It will have a cap on it like a valve stem cap on it.
