Replace the reverse light switch 1999 kia sportage

I just purchaced a 2000 Sportage and am having the same problem. I did find that Autozone.com has a free online manual that you can view and print sections from. I would rather have a book at my side when I repair my car, but until somebody comes up with one we are stuck with the online services.

at the right side of the vehicle under the battery there is the starter bolted by three screws you need to get under the vehicle to loose the screws use a 14mm socket and wrench to get the bolt loose it takes a bit of maneuvering to get it out of the tight space but it is possible and simply reverse to get the new one in remember to disconnect the battery and the lines to the starter before starting to work.

Switch is stuck.Remove console arond the gear lever inside the car to get to the switch. It can be stuck. easy to replace and not exspensive. Enjou from Willem SA
