There may be a problem with the TCM unit or other sensor in the transmission
find an accredited transmission shop for a proper diagnosis.
It will not need a new transmission just replacement of faulty sensors.

Generally when you see a code like that it's caused by internal slipping inside the transmission so the input speed does not match the output expected speed. You may not need a new transmission but it will need a rebuild to correct!
