Question about 2008 Pontiac G5
I have a 2008 Pontiac G5 about 2 weeks after purchasing my car (new) the pinging noise came along. I took it into the dealer and they were confused about the noise and swapped out another exhaust for my own. One month later I was back with the same issue. Now the dealer is saying that it is normal. I have had so many issues with that car, not to mention a timing chain at 1,400 miles, a electrical system failure, as well as the tire system failure. I am also having problems with the transmission (my car is 7,986 miles). I hate this car and I have contacted GM corporation and made a claim with BBB. I have had 10 year old vehicles that were not in the shop as much as this car. The pinging noise isn't normal. The dealership told me that it wasn't and now that they can't fix it they are saying that it is normal.
It's not normal!
Dealers are deaf to issues!
My moms dealer told her the grinding noise from her starter was because it was new and needed to break in!
Try using better grade gas, stick to one brand for a couple of tanks. Some new cars need higher octane too.
But stick to one brand and grade for a few tank fulls.
