Question about 2006 Nissan X-Trail 2.2

Open Question

Rear wiper turns on but won't turn off

When engine stops, wiper stops and does not turn back on. Once turned on, it won't turn off till engine is switched off. Intermittent does not work - any time you turn the switch it comes on and stays on till you turn off the engine.

SOURCE: Wiper Linkage

Take off both of the wiper arms and try to use wipers if they are moving you didn't install the arms correctly. If thats the case with the arms off and the wipers running turn them off with the wiper switch and wait for them to "park", then tun off the ignition and reinstall the arms in their proper location. Also when the linkage falls off you should replace it with a new one. It is a ball and socket fitting and when it fails it spreads the plastic socket and loosens it up. It is also reccommended when you are inside there you should always replace the linkages in pairs and also check the pivots (the knurled studs that the wiper arms bolt to) for play and if necessary replace these as well. Good luck.

SOURCE: wipers stopped working, but can still hear the

Hey,
The earing that connects the wiper arm to the motor is ground down. You need to replace the wiper arms or the motor depending on which "gears" are ground down. The wiper motor is here:

Wiper arm here:

Hope this helps!

2005. Why doesn't windshield wiper stop?

There's a switch on the motor; when you turn it off, it's going to continue till the wipers are in the "park" position. Possibly a ca or internal cam or detent activates a switch to stop rotating. You might need a new wiper motor if the position switch isn't external.

Rear wiper will not shut off

the motor in all wipers motors boxes.
has a switch inside, called the keep alive or auto cancel;.
its bad.
ive fixed many a switch inside, most shops throw the whole thing way.
for good reason, they dont want you back next week for same problem.
on old cars we try to fix things. direct.

to prove this. we use a voltmeter
at the 2 power pins, one goes to 0volts when you turn it off
the other stays hot. 12v. this is normal
if the motor fails to stop, the motor internal switch is bad.

the tests are here.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

under wipers chapter and wiring 8w-53-4
as you can see the rear motor has 3 wires.
pin 2 is ground
pin1 is keep alive pin, 12v.
pin 3 is demand, 12v wiper on, 0v wiper off.

if you cut the pin 3 wire, and the motor keeps going, the motor internal switch is bad.
if cutting pin 3 , kills the motor ,that means the hand switch is bad.
or shorted some way.

Back screen wiper will not turn off

Switch to turn on is malfunctioning. or the wire from wiper motor that runs to switch is shorting to earth somewhere between motor and stork switch. Can pull wires from wiper at multi connector to wiper.

Back windshield wiper won't turn on

The rear wiper has a dedicated fuse. It's the 10A R/WIPER fuse in the relay block. This supplies power to the rear wiper and washer switch and the rear wiper control unit. That unit also gets power from the 20A AUDIO (!) fuse in the engine room fuse box. If the fuses are OK, the ignition switch is in the ON position, and the rear wiper and washer switch is turned on the rear wiper should work. If not check all the components described to find where the loss of power is occurring

Kia sorrento wipers won't stop

I had the wipers won't shut off, or turned on by themselves on my 2005 Kia Sorento. It about drove me nuts. I came across my solution by pressing every button I could find, eventually finding out what the mystery button to the right of the hazard button on the dash was for. (It's to defrost the front wipers by the way) You can investigate further if you'd like but it's not necessary if this works for you.

I simply pressed the button on, waited a moment and turned it back off. It stopped the wipers. They came back on about three more times over next few days and I repeated the process each time. It's been about three weeks since the last time I did it and I haven't had any more problems. This sound crazy or quirky I know and I don't pretend to understand it, but it's working for me. It beats the heck out of paying over $300 dollars plus labour for a new wiper switch . I priced them. Good luck.

Where is the switch for my 1997 VW Golf rear windsheild wiper? I just bought it and I can't find it...

The switch for the rear wiper is on the actual windshield wiper switch for the front wipers, you have to push the lever forward to turn it on and then again to turn it off, to use the washer fluid for the rear wiper you push the same lever forward and hold it there till the washer fluid comes out.

No...blade comes off end of arm... If in doubt, most "supermarket" style parts outlets will put it on for free.
