what the real problem
faulty diagnostic fault scanner tool
or no engine bay fault codes?

you could toss lots of new parts and not fix the faults
tow to a workshop or DIY fixes are possible if you can know the
specific fault codes
po500 seems to fit
https://www.obd-codes.com/p0500

a few things going wrong for that astra
fixable
speed sensor
wheel sensors faulty /abs module

if auto it will have strange gear changes and brakes unreliable

Po500

Maybe.
Code 500 is for a problem with the speed sensor or the circuit. But it could also be something mechanical inside the transmission. The signal the engine computer is getting from the sensor is out of normal range for the condition.

What is 500 po code ????

PO500 Looks to be Veh Speed Sensor A Malfunction...
I'd go to AutoZone or your local parts store and maybe get a printout of possible fixes.
Looks to be just replacing a sensor.
Hope this helps...

I failed inspection because of code 500. If I replace my sensors will that automatically cure the problem? It also failed for code 734 which I have no clue what that means...

PO500 First off if you have replaced your tires with an incorrect size then that is your problem. If not the PO500 possibly means the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) may be bad or the wiring is frayed or loose. I would reset the code and see if it comes back while at the same time inspecting all the wiring. PO734 Transmission 4th gear slipping. This may be why you have code PO500. You need to immediately seek out a transmission expert and have this looked into before the transmission is toast.

Disconnect the battery negative terminal

Wait 5 minutes

Reconnect the negative battery terminal

Drive the van and see what codes pop up.

Auto zone will give you a free print out of what the codes mean then you can go from there to fix the parts that come up in the codes.

Did you check that the tranny fluid lines were not damaged?

I have 1998 Nissan Frontier with an engine light on. I paid a mechanic to put in a speed sensor and the light came back on the day after he put in the new part. The codes before he worked on the truck were...

the PO 325 code is for VSS vichicle speed sensor and PO500 is for a knock sensor,so you will need to see what the new code is to be able to help you, the engine power manegment is controled by both get it scanned by autozone or the mechanic that did the work and see if it's the same code, if it is you may have a short or an ecm going bad. let us know what codes you find.
