Question about 1992 Toyota Camry V6
I have a 92 Camry 2.2 automatic, was driving it the other day and was running great, turned a corner when i went to step on the gas it would not come up on rpms, pressed a little harder it just died, by the way no engine codes, could not get it started again. Acts like it wanted to fire but would not start. Towed it home, let it set overnight, tried it again cranked and cranked and finally did get it to start again, took it up to 3 - 4 k rpm slowly run like a top, try to rev it up and would die and nearly impossible to start again. Changed pump, and filter, and checked regulator which appears to good. still no luck, took it to a local mechanic and he thought it was leaning out, which he checked pressures as well. Was wondering if it could be a distributor problem? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
Make sure your fuel cap is allowing atmospheric pressure to enter the tank. They are designed to allow air in to replace the spent fuel. if this is blocked it creates a vaccum.
