you can if motors are any good, the motors are reversable 12v only for a tempary fix.2 jumper wires and a 12v battery

Check the brake pedal's suspension; you should find the brake light switch there and it has either failed or its mounting bracket needs to be adjusted.

How to adjust the hydraulic clutch slave cylinder locknut that is under the dashboard


the slave cylinder is bolted to the bell housing, its motion moves the throw out bearing. the master cylinder is connected to the clutch pedal. the adjustment will only take any slack out of the rod which is moved by the clutch pedal up against the piston of the master cylinder. it only needs adjustment if the clutch pedal has any slop in it.

Burnt smell from clutch when im in 3rd gear


It sounds like the clutch is close to being worn out as the pressure plate is not gripping the clutch plate with sufficient force when power is applied. Before you consider replacing any thing, first check the clutch free travel adjustment because as the clutch plate wears the free travel does decrease and if there is no free travel, then there will be some releasing action on the pressure plate allowing cluth plate slip. Hydraulic setups are usually self adjusting but you should check the free travel of the clutch pedal which should be about 3/8 to 1/2 inch measured at the pedal rubber. This is done by adjusting the push rod that links the pedal arm to the piston in the master cylinder. Adjust by first loosening the locknut on the rod at the end where it attaches to the pedal arm and turning the rod in either direction to obtain the correct free travel. One adjusted retighten locknut.
For a cable setup there should at least 1/8 inch of free travel of the cable before it starts to move the clutch fork on the outside of the bell housing. To adjust, hold the operating fork so that the release bearing is touching the fingers of the pressure plate. You will need to turn the cable adjuster so there is only about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of free travel of the cable where it attaches to throw out fork before it starts to move the fork when the pedal is depressed.
If all adjustments are correct and clutch is still slipping then the pressure plate diaphragm spring has lost its tension and /or the clutch plate has worn down to the rivets. Either way you will have to do a complete clutch rebuild.

sounds like the brake/accelertor adjuster motor isnt working... 1st start by checkin the fuses under the dash if all looks well go down to where the accerator pedal/motor is and check for 12v at the connector if your gettin 12v with the switch depressed replace the accerator pedal adjuster motor

My 04 navigator left power seat wont move any direction and pedal adjust wont move...there is a clicking sound coming from a black box under seat but no function


it does not appear that the driver seat or adjustable pedal share anything in common

furthermore, the sound you hear clicking may be the actual seat motor trying to work, but lets do a quick test

try to move the seat up/down, forward/back and any combination. If while holding the button in said position and you consistently hear the clicking sound that follow the sound and touch the motor under your seat. If you feel the "clicking" then your seat motor is bound or siezed and will need repair.

if instead you just hear one click then you might be experiencing a relay problem

As for the pedal adjustment... have you checked fuse #109 (30A) @ the CJB (Central Junction Box) behind the right kick panel?

Brake and gas pedals


The vehicle has a optional adjustable brake to increase driver comfort. The brake pedal position is changed in phase with the accelerator pedal. The system is adjusted by pressing the dash-mounted switch that powers the driver motor mounted on the accelerator pedal assembly. The two-way motor operates backward (away from the driver) or forward (toward the driver) to adjust the accelerator pedal directly and the brake pedal through the drive cable attached to the brake pedal assembly.

REMOVE the foreign material. RETEST for normal operation.

GO to D5 . D5 CHECK CABLE
  • Detach the adjustable pedal motor cable.
  • Inspect the ends of the brake pedal motor cable for wear or damage.
  • Are the cable ends OK?
Yes
GO to D6 .

No
INSTALL a new accelerator pedal assembly. REFER to Section 310-02 . TEST the system for normal operation. D6 CHECK CIRCUITS FOR SHORT TO BATTERY
  • Key in OFF position. Adjustable Pedal Switch C290
  • Disconnect the adjustable pedal switch C290.
  • Measure voltage at C290-1 and C290-7.
  • Is the voltage greater than 0 V at either pin?
Yes
REPAIR the short to battery. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
GO to D7 . D7 CHECK POWER TO SWITCH
  • Measure the voltage at C290-2 circuit 490 (RD).
  • Is the voltage greater than 10 V?
Yes
GO to D8 .

No
REPAIR circuit 490 (RD). TEST the system for normal operation. D8 CHECK GROUND TO SWITCH
  • Measure resistance to ground at C290-3 circuit 57 (BK) and C290-6 circuit 57 (BK).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms at both pins?
Yes
GO to D9 .

No
REPAIR the open circuit. TEST the system for normal operation. D9 TEST SWITCH
  • Connect fused jumpers between C290-1 and -2 and between C270-7 and -3.
  • Does the adjustable pedal motor run in both directions?
Yes
INSTALL a new adjustable pedal switch. TEST the system for normal operation.

No
GO to D10 . D10 CHECK SWITCH-TO-MOTOR CIRCUITS CONTINUITY
  • Connect: Adjustable Pedal Switch C290.
  • Disconnect: Adjustable Pedal Motor C2001.
  • Measure resistance to ground at both pins of the adjustable pedal motor connector, circuits 1494 (RD) and 1495 (WH).
  • Is the resistance less than 5 ohms at both pins?
