Question about 2006 Pontiac Torrent
Check engine light was on so I brought it to the dealer. They said that the fresh air snorkel was disconnected at the valve cover. They reconnected it and the CEL went out. Well the light came back on and I would like to reconnect the hose rather than bring it back to the dealer, but I can't find it. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it!
I believe the one your describing goes from the air inlet tube assy. , up and over the throttle body and goes to the top of the valve cover, under the ignition module (firewall side). If you already paid the dealer to fix this, take it back under warranty,

Testimonial: "I would bring it back to the dealer, but it was over a year ago.. You were right on the money with the location, and it had come loose. Should I reset the codes after reconnecting it? If no, approximately how long will I have to drive it before the CEL goes out? Thanks for your help, much appreciated!"

to clear the codes stored remove the negative battery cable for about five minutes. Reistall the cable then turn the car on the light should be out . If it comes back on then there is a fault with one of your sensors and you need to pull the code
let me know

disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, this will reset the light, but if the problem that turned the light is no repaired the light will come on again in a few days.

I had the SAME thing with my car!! Remove your air bag module its a grayish looking box that deploys your air bags, my air bag light was on but it was on and off. I pumped gas in my car one night and when i went to crank it my car cut right off after a split second. My mechanic took time on it but discover that it was a secrity issue. He removed the air bag module and presto it fired right up. I thought it was a fuel filter or fuel pump. It was just the air bag module, people freaked out about it once i told them what it was....it should be under the passenger seat, i believe u may have to take out the seat to get to it.

Under the front seats you have wires going to your seat belt anchors.These wires are atached to a sensor witch activate the air bags if the anchors have force pull on them.The wires have plugs under the seat.Disconnect the plugs and spray with electical cleaner and replace.Make sure the ignition is switched off befor you attemt doing.90%of the time this will work.good luck.

The HVAC assembly that controls the AC and heat is located inside the dash. The dash needs to be removed in order to gain access to these components. GM has had many many complaints with this vehicles Heat/AC (HVAC) system, and most complaints were do to a blend door shaft that breaks, preventing proper air flow direction and control. The cost to repair this problem ranges anywhere from $900.00 to $1200.00 dollars, and is a very big job to say the least. You may want to try and contact GM and see if there is some assistance they can provide for this repair. They should just have a recall, but that has not happened yet.
