Where is the crankshaft sensor on my 97 nissan pathfinder?

THE BEST WAY TO KNOW WHERE YOUR SENSOR IS AT IS TO ASK THE PARTS DEPARTMENT WHEN YOU ORDER IT FOR YOUR CAR. THEY WILL GIVE YOU A PHOTO OF THE LOCATION FOR THE ENGINE YOU REQUESTED . GOOD LUCK

Is the knock sensor located under the lower intake or the upper on a 1997 nissan pathfinder

Well, let me just say that you have to remove the intake manifold (the one with 6 metal pipes) to remove the knock sensor. It is not easy to remove the intake manifold on Nissans.

My rpms gauge on the dashboard of my 1997 pathfinder 3.3V6 doesnt work, or works eratically! How do I solve this problem???? Is it a sensor replacement?? Where would the sensor be located?? Thanks!!!!

This likely the RPM guage itself. The signal is given off of the ignition module. If you are not having any driving issues, replace the cluster. Any salvage yard should carry these. You can also look for anyone who does speedometer repair in your area that way the mileage will stay the same. Let me know if you need instructions to pull the cluster.
