Question about 1999 BMW 323 Series
I put in the wrong code, then code wait appears, i have waited hours/ days but it wont reset, do i have to keep ignition in the on position for an hour to make this work or what do i need to make it work.

1. You have to have the code for the radio which varies by serial # of BMW. I got this code by calling my BMW dealer here in town. They were very nice and gave it to me for free.
2. When you enter the code wrong 3 times (I think) the radio goes into "sleep mode" for 2 or 3 hours of operation. In this sleep mode the radio will not let you enter the code from 1 above.
3. After waiting just enter the code and all will be well.

It normally says CODEWAIT because wrong codes have been entered
The usual solution is to LEAVE SWITCHED ON....UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself.
This can sometimes be many hours as the waiting time doubles after each wrong code.However, normally , it is only an hour or two.
