Sounds like yiour fuel pump is not running or you have a clooged fuel filter. If the pump is not running it could be the relay or a bad pump. The pump runs for about 1.5 second when you turn on the key.. go to back of truck and have someone just turn the key on to the accessory position. you should be able to hear the pump start and stop.. Kinda a bussing noise.

SOURCE: 2001 Toyota Tacoma seems "boggy"

The best thing to do is go to Autozone or a repair shop and have them read the code. There are a few things that could be going on and instead of simply trying to replace items not knowing the true issue, the check engine light can tell you the problem. In the end this will save you time and effort to find the cause.

Where is iat sensor on 2006 toyota tacoma 4.ol 4door located ?

This is the 2001-2012 Toyota Tacoma wiring diagram, Toyota Tacoma IAT (Intake Air Temperature) Sensor Location and the Toyota Tacoma MAF (Mass Air Flow) Sensor Location, also included is a pinout of the sensor. You are likely installing a performance chip or a cold air intake kit for increased HP (Horsepower). You will want to be sure to disconnect the car battery before adding performance products.

Here is the Toyota Tacoma's Iat sensor diagram:

My totota tacom e2001 is getting hot...i.e. temperature gauge is showing higher temperature...I changed thermostat, temperature sensor... still the problem exists...how can I get a solution for this? ...

Do you know if there has been Leak Stop or similar added in the past. If so, that can cause a blockage and the cooling system may need to be flushed. If not, another test you can try is to remove the thermostat completely. Since it is still warmer weather it will not be an issue other than it will take longer for the engine to warm up. If you are still seeing high temperatures I would suspect that your water pump is failing or has failed and is not moving enough water through the cooling system.

you may have a fuel delivery problem. If you are having to prime the vehicle in order for it to start. than your gas is not getting to the engine with out help. I would check the fuel pump and filter.
