SOURCE: 1991 mighty max

If it is 4X4 and you re not going far. Put the transfer case in neutral. If it is 2X4 standard transmission, put it in neutral. If it is an automatic transmission you need to remove the driveline.

SOURCE: Torque specs for mighty max

Per my Chilton's manual tehe bolts should be (cold engine) 65 to 72 FT. Pnds., the cam shaft bearing bolts should be 8x25 = 15 - 19 Ft pnds and the 8x65 should be 14 - 15 Ft Pnds.

The sequence is as follows for the (10 ) head bolts:

7 - 5 - 2 - 4 - 10

9 - 3 - 1 - 6 - 8

I hope this may help,
Tom

SOURCE: replace valve seals on a 1988 mitsubishi mighty

The safest way is to remove the head and work on a bench. With the use of a special tool you can change the valve seals with the heads on (worst case scenario you drop a valve and have to remove the head to retrieve it). When you remove the overhead cam or the rockers all the valves will be closed. If you remove the spark plug and screw in an air nozzle hooked up to an air compressor you can remove the valve springs, with a valve spring compressor, and replace the stem seals. It will take about 100 psi and you will want to replace the seals one at a time. You should be able to buy the air compressor fitting for the spark plug hole from Mac or Snap-on. I made one from an old spark plug by knocking out the porcelain and attaching a hose and air line fitting (risky, but it worked on my Goldwing)

1988 Mitsubishi mighty max alternator wiring

most alternators are just 2 wires yellow/green usually go to the dash bulb to say alternator is working, thick red is direct to battery, some models have an extra earth, there are a few types of duel alternators that are designed to charge more than one battery, these have 2 bolt polls one standard size and another half the size this one is for the spare battery i.e battery for fridge etc. hope this helps. battery light on dash is usually spade connector.

1992 mitsubishi mighty max 2.4 liter manual, could not get starter to turn over until i went directly to starter, does not seem to be getting enough voltage to starter solenoid, what do i need to check in...

Run a wire directly from the (disconnected) starter solenoid wire to the (disconnected, just grounded) horn. See how it blows. If weak, it could be the ignition switch or the clutch safety switch.

My '95 mighty max with 110,000 miles just had new cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, and PCV valve. New battery timing belt "A" and "B". Timed to 7.5 deg with the timing...

If it is doing this only when you rev the engine after it has been idling a while, it is probably smoke from burning oil. A new set of valve stem seals will probably work wonders in reducing the smoke. Stopping the oil consumption will not only help it to pass a smog test but will also help to keep from damaging your engine and your catalytic converters. 110,000 miles is just barely broke-in for a Mitsubishi engine. However, the seals are probably cracked and broken due to the AGE of the vehicle.

yes you should. use a small brush first and try to clean in behind the throttle plates inside as much as possible. then start the car, it may take a minute but it will start. then rev it up and spray some in the throttle. put a filter on it

Sputtering during idle blue smoke

You are burning oil, causing the blue smoke. It is mainly cause by worn piston rings. Also will coat your spark plugs with oily residue. Try an oil additive such as "stop smoke" or another such brand to reduce burning your oil and it may recondition your seal sand stop it all together.
