This prob sounds like an engine intake valve is stuck open. This is usually caused by very high revs! Check the compression on this cylinder. Frankster016

SOURCE: 2003 dodge durango

Hi all ,i have 03` durango & same problem,so i have some tips on how to solve idle problem, there is a valve between battery & fender.this valve has two wires & two hoses, one hose connected to air intake another to pressure valve,so if you just take the first hose off it will run good but, higher rpm & check engine lights will come on.some older models have this valve on front panel behind engine.

SOURCE: 02' Ford escape 6 cylinder:

Although you say you have coils misfiring, it sounds like you are not sure.

Trade the coils on cylinder 4 and 5 with coils on 2 and 3. Erase the codes and try to run the engine again. If the misfire code comes up on 2 and 3 this time, the coils are definitely the problem. If the code comes up for 4 and 5 again, there is something else besides the coils that is causing the misfire on those two cylinders.

Things to check: sticking or faulty EGR valve, vacuum leaks on intake manifold gasket near or between the runners for cylinders 4 and 5, clogged fuel injectors, a bad ground for the powertrain control module (PCM or computer), wiring problems to the coils.

Need to know which man is right. How many spark plugs in a 2005 Dodge Ram with a 4.7L Magnum?

The 4.7L engine has 8 spark plugs and 8 coils. The 5.7L has 16 spark plugs fired by 8 coils. Tha't's usually where the confusion between these two motors comes into play.

Need diagram for firing order to a 2000 Dodge Durango Magnum,4.7

I apologize for the late response...Due to the bad economic situation this site has had a substantial (+50%) increase in the number of questions being asked in the last four months.

For the 4.7L:
Firing Order:
1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Cylinders:
8----------7
6----------5
4----------3
2----------1
(Front of Vehicle)

"P done" means there are no codes stored. If there were codes you would see P and 4 numbers.
