Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

2008 Nissan xterra with heat stuck on. My dash got taken apart for a cd deck change and the controls for my heater/ac system got unplugged and plugged during the process. Now the only control in the set that works is the fan power. The hot cold dial doesn't affect temperature, the dial that sets what vents the air comes out doesn't do anything, my ac, rear defrost and air circulation buttons don't work or light up of pushed. It was set to floor/defrost high heat when this started so it's stuck there. I can turn the fan to zero but it still vents hot air and now that it's summer it's becoming unbearable. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think it's the plug or fuses. Plug is in there secure, pins and connections look to vs in good condition. It's also only one plug that controls everything but the fan control works. Checked all fuses even replaced the most likely ones just in case I couldn't see the fact that they were blown. Thanks"

Possibly the plugs either aren't connected properly or incorrectly plugged. Recheck the plugs. Also check fuses, maybe one blew while it was being plugged. The work should have been done with the battery disconnected for that reason.

SOURCE: AC light

Yes, this appears to be a 'feature' and not a problem. They might have been drinking when programming the a/c and recirc features of the Rogue's ventilation system as everyone seems to be confused about how it defaults to certain settings at various times.

SOURCE: Truck heater is stuck ON

There is a blend door motor on top of the housing. If you open the glove box, and look to the top of the housing near the left rear of the glove box, you should see the blend door motor. You can check it at this point. Also check the housing, as I have seen a number of these with a damaged or broken housing.

SOURCE: this car has the automatic temperature control system

The hot/cold switch is probably bad.you have a blend door box that opens to let the cold air in and closes to let the hot air in.From what you are saying this part is no responding to the switch movement.Make sure power is at the switch and power should go through the switch when put on cold air this moves the blend door. Some times the blend door goes bad and has to be replaced its under the dash on the right side.

My ac/heat control knobs are stuck on my 2005 nissan sentra. How do I fix it?

Check the condition of the heater matrix valve under the dash board. Disconnect any motors or cable connections to it and try operating it by hand. If it is stuck, then replace it.

If not stuck, then check motor operation (if climate control model) or cable routing (if manual only).

No heat 2002 Nissan Xterra

Check to make sure the radiator is full and the heater hoses are getting hot. If so, you may have a problem with the blend door under the dash.

Ac blows heat out of two vent and cold air out of the other two

Hello first of all

What has happened in your case is your actuator door that changes your heat to ac or ac to head is stuck in the middle.

There is a motor that controls that its called an actuator motor on some cars it can be accessed
without tearing apart the dash and on some dash disassemble is required.

It is not a really hard job just patients and following direction really.

I hope this helps if so please 4 thumbs up helps us on here answer your questions

I have a 2000 nissan xterra my heat dont warm up i change my thermo stat if i get my heater core flush what are my chances of it working what are the major problem with the 2000 nissan xterra i done...

forget all the above items you mentiond, the heater metrick/core should be ok if you put a cooler flush through the system,im looking at the thermo switch mounted on the top of the water system it will have two wires on it and tells the engine when to let hot water through the core, also if its not working the engine will not perform great so try this and forget about new spark plugs/wires/coil pack ,as these are nothing to do with heating.adrian,,,

No cold air just hot

System is vacuum controlled check for vacuum at the switch you replaced If it's there then check the blend door motor (moves the "flapper") If motor is good, then the door is stuck and heater box needs to be taken apart. If no vacuum at the switch, work your way back to the engine where vacuum originates to determine where line is broken or disconnected.

Can't change air flow direction on ac/heater control. Only blows up to windshield.

It will be a cable that will be disconnected. or broken. Youll have to take some of the dash apart to see the cable and follow it to the switch. Dont be affraid to take some things apart and when you cant see, use a mirror to help you see behind the dash. work the control and watch the action. You will fix this dont get frustrated. good luck
