SOURCE: Fuel door wont stay closed

there is a little metal tesion bar/bracket that keeps it in the open or closed position. If your fuel door itself is not bent or damaged then I would check this bar to see if it has been bent or out of place. I'm not sure if there is a replacement part; I just bent mine a little to get it to stay closed. Unfortunatly I left it open the other day when I went thru a car was after fueling and the door is bent now so I have another issue to deal with.

hope that helps

How to disable alarm on 95 jaguar xj6

Your Car is equipped with an Electronic Security System. If you disable it (which most probably you can not), you will bet on security of your car. If you still want to disable it, you should contact your Dealer or Authorized Service Station with Purchase Bill. If possible, they'll change locking system to old one.

Trunk will not open fuel door will not open all fuses ok

You have listed the vehicle is a 1987 Jaguar XJ6. The trunk is not electronic and only unlocks with the key as well as both the gas doors. Any issues here then it is your key or the actual trunk latch. If you do have a 1988 model year then the trunk lock has 3 positions. locked all the time, unlocked all the time or the vertical position locks and unlocks with the vehicles drivers door lock. If the trunk button (paddle) is loose and moves but nothing happens then the inside rod has come loose and you will have to manually operate the latch by removing the license plate and taking a long screw driver through the lower plastic bungs. The fuel flap is a separate unite and does have a manual release but you need to open the trunk to get to it. If the fuel flap stays locked all the time then the actually filler neck module will need replacing.If you have a 1997 which has the electronic release button to open the trunk (95-2003) Then you will need to firstly lock all door and unlock the drivers door 2 times. Check the fuel flap is now released, if not then the fuel flap actuator located on the filler neck inside the trunk is bad. If the trunk does not open with the remote, inside car switch and trunk mounted switch then the passenger side trunk harness is broken. Open the trunk with the key and on the right(passenger) hinge there is a grey plastic cover, remove that cover and carefully peel back the wiring harness cover and you will find 1 or more broken wires. Once the wires are repaired then I recommend you zip tie them in place and retest the trunk release button.If this does not answer any of your questions please feel free to email mejpseuro@gmail.com

use wd-40 or liquid wrench and a tooth pick- use toothpick to hold the little metal flap in lock back and spray oil inside- locks weren't uses much as you have remote locks- lack of use can cause rust/lockup
key will start engine? if not- you might have gotten the wrong keys- or there might be a different one for the door locks from the ignition key

I have a Jaguar XJ6 3 litre 2003 the driver door handle has jammed open and the door has remained locked. Can you offer any suggestions?

take a screwdriver and place it into the locking mech where the door meets the closing latch

The screw driver should be placed in door like this

[[[[[[[[[[========)=>
||||||| <this is the door latch

Push ^^^ then pull out toward the interior of the car while toggling the handle

The two back doors for a jaguar xj6 1994 do not, open email afernadez730hotmail.com

If the doors will open from the outside, but do not open from the inside - the child safety switches are probably activated. Open the rear doors (from the outside) and slide the small levers next to the doors locks (on the edge of the doors) upwards.
