Question about 2004 Ford Taurus
My 2004 Ford Taurus had a shot AC Compressor and i replaced it and now, ever since i got it replaced, the "Check engine light" came on and it seems like the engine is a bit hotter.
Check to see if the radiator and A/C condenser are clear of airflow obstructions (damage, excessive leaves and dirt, etc). Check to make sure that the electric fans are running. There are 2 speeds. As it warms up, it should go slow, then when it gets hot, the fans should go to high speed. Check also to see if radiator is blocked up. It should be at engine temp on one side, and it should be cooler, but still warm, on the other side. Neglected coolant causing rust and debris blockages in the radiator are common to these cars. If the coolant is rusty and orange/brown, it may also indicate a failing water pump

your code is or the following. Fuel Pump Secondary Circuit Malfunction. This may involve removing your gas tank to fix. Go to the parts store and they can get you the parts you need and let you know for sure.

SOURCE: 2005 ford taurus engine light on
Try disconnecting the battery for 10 mins. This may reset the lights timer. If it comes back on within the next few days the take it to a large auto parts store and most will bring their computer out and hook it to your car and read the code the light will leave in your car computer, then they tell what the code says and try to sell you the part. You might car the auto parts store first and tell them what you have and ask if then can read your code for you.Its usually a free service.

Make sure you replaced the right one there are two sensor's for the coolant, one takes coolant temp and the other one runs the fans for the radiator. Both are located on drivers side of the block. 2 wire leads on each how ever both are different in sending readings to the computer. Both look just alike also. Just make sure you replaced the right one. Or replace both.
