SOURCE: 94 lincoln mark8 trouble codes 113 and 635 what

113 is the IAT (inlet air temp) sensor reading is above maximum voltage -40 deg indicated. This is the sensor that is in the air tube from the air filter box to the throttle body. It will have a black 2 wire connector. This is usually and open ckt like sensor unplugged.

635 is not a good code but the 600 series codes are transmission codes. However if it is a code 637 maybe, then that would make sense because that would be a trans fluid temp exceeds maximum voltage indicated -40 deg and both of these sensors share the same circuit in the GY/R wire,this is the signal return.

If this is the case you may have a broken wire so I would try and overlay that circuit from pin 46 of the PCM to the IAT sensor first and see if that corrects the 113 and it may also back feed that ckt and clear the other code also.

SOURCE: I put in mobil 1 10w 40 oil in a 2004 lincoln

If it is knocking you have bigger issues!

There are several "knocking" noises an engine can make. Most of them are not good. A good tech with a trained ear will be able to help narrow down the possibilities.

Some possibilities are a spun bearing or a rod knock. If it is either of these it is terminal and no oil will help. An engine rebuild or engine swap will be the only fix.

What is the correct engine oil weight for a 1988 Lincoln Town car 8 cylinder?

That would depend on your weather.
If its an area that is hot most of the time you want 5w/30
if its cold say 15c to -20c you'll want 10w/30
Hope this has helped:)

I have an 01 deville should I use 5w30 which is recommended or go to 10w30 it has 98000 mi on it

According with the Repair Guide you coudl use...
Use in all temperature ranges
- Peak Performance 5W-30 Conventional Motor Oil
- AutoZone(R) 5W-30 Motor Oil 55 Gallon
- Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil
- Havoline with Deposit Shield 5W-30 Motor Oil

Check if you have excessive oil consumption, but if this happens, you should use 10W-30.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

ENGINE OIL

You will need to use a 10W-30 grade engine oil, such as any of the following Mobil products.
"Fully synthetic" oils are more expensive. Conventional oils or syn blend engine oils are fine for the vehicle but need to be changed more frequently.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance 10W-30
fully synthetic motor oil ;

fully synthetic motor oil;

Mobil Clean 7500 10W-30
synthetic blend motor oil ;
spacer.gif Mobil Clean High Mileage 10W-30
a conventional motor oil;
spacer.gif Mobil Clean 5000 10W-30
a conventional motor oil .

What motor oil is recommended for the 2003 SSR?

Look on the oil fill cap. Write down what it says then call around to find out who has this class of oil.You might even call the Chevy dealer and ask for the service manager, ask him .I like the Castrol Syntec 10w-30 for my 2001 Chevy Monte Carlo.

What kind of engine oil should i use

Originally your manufacturer called for a 10W-30 or a 5W-30 weight oil. However now that your vehicle is a little over ten years old I would suggest using a thicker oil of the 10W-40 choice.Thank you, Dana
