Momentarily turn the switch clockwise when it in the auto position and it should turn the lights on or off, if not you may have a bad switch relay located in the power distribution box under the hood.

Why r my tail lights staying on my 1993 gmc Sierra

Are you sure it is the tail lights and not the brake lights? If the park lights are staying on, the front should be on as well in most cases. If it is the brake lights staying on, suspect a faulty brake light switch located at the brake pedal

Lights stay on with key off

I think there supposed to. They should be on a time delay. After a few min they should turnoff. Also you can try tuning off the car take your keys out and the lights are on just try turning your light on manually on then off..
Oh and see if your light switch has a auto setting if so turn on then off.
Hope this helps.

I have a 1991 honda accord coupe. the taillights stay on all the time. what do i do to make them turn off?

the tail lights? theres two signals. is it the park lights stay on or the stop lights stay on??? is your stop lights stay on, go under the dash board right in front or behind the brake pedal you will see a switch. dicconect it. then check the lights again. if there off buy a new stop light switch and reinstall it. and recheck it again. also before you buy it, check the relay for the stop lights too. remove it and check. then put another from another function. huh horn, headligh a/c blower just to test it then put it back,. let me know

Start by setting your auto headlight switch to off if this solves it replace your headlight switch If your car is equipped with daytime running lights there could be a short bridging them with your auto head lights look for broken or frayed wires do this also if you have installed or had someone install an aftermarket stereo or speakers/sub woofer, amplifier. Good Luck with this

Tail lights stay on

There is a switch that should shut these off when the front door is opened. Have the dealer fix under warranty.

I took it to the Ford dealership. Don't ever let a shade tree mechanic work on your electrical. It turns out, someone wired the alarm totally wrong. Which shorted out my headlight switch.
