Question about 1999 Dodge Ram
Hi...im working on my dad's 98 24valve dodge 5.9 cummings...on cold start up or if its been sitting for a while, it cranks over alot longer than usual to start(usually hit the key and go..now it takes about 10-20 secs of cranking)...ive changed the electric lift pump...pressures were low 3-4lbs (should be 7-10lbs)....still the same problem...i tested the overflow valve on the injection pump and it seemed no good so changed it too, still same problem...ive looked for fuel leaks also since i found it was leaving small wet spots of fuel after sitting for a bit ...they were coming from the bottom of the bell housing ...i couldnt find any leaks at any of the lines or connections..so i put dye in the fuel and still cant tell were its coming from.......any help would be greatly appreciated....:)
Good work!! Check the glow plugs for power & make sure you're getting fuel.
