The only way would be either to just pull it. Otherwise you could dismantle the head liner and remove the gear and motor

As for the interior lights, spray all the buttons and switches with penetrating oil. The door latches have sensors in them that when stuck will cause the door ajar light to come on along wit the interior lights. Spray all the door latches with penetrating oil.The stuck sunroof seems to be a common problem. Something about the sunshade getting pull back with the sunroof when it opens and gets in a bind. There is a manual closing feature, but you have to drop the headliner in order to access it. Supposedly the dealer has a repair kit or upgraded design, but it''s pretty expensive. There is a website called Sunroof Doctor that sells a repair kit. You might want to check that out.

I am sorry for the trouble.
This is a common problem. If you look at the reviews for this car, you would be surprised to know how many people are already faced the same issue. Unfortunately, there is no recall or lawsuit for the same.It would be tough to predict what might be the problem as there could be certain fuses and components that could cause this.
However, as you mentioned you could hear the ' hum ' or ' click ' noise, it tells us that the power is up there. If all other functions such power windows, rear vent windows and running board lights are fine, i would suspect the motor. However, if you want to make sure whether it's motor or not, you need to remove the colored trim ring around the opening of the moon roof on the headliner from the inside of the truck. You need to slightly pull down the back edge on the opening in the headliner and you could put a flash in there. If you have a rear DVD player, you need to remove it. Open the DVD screen and you could see 4 screws out there and you could gain access to the motor of the roof. The motor would have allen wrench hole around the center and that would help you to manually move the roof. You need to use the 5/32 allen wrench to turn the motor. Watch the glass and make sure that you are moving it open. You need to move the glass 1 - 2 inches and then see, if that operates the switch. If it does, then the motor is bad.If you use the allen wrench on the motor and try to move the glass and it does not move at all then the track is broken and the whole track has to be replaced.
Let me know,once done.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
