Question about Cars & Trucks

Can you please tell me where the AC high and low presure sensors are located on a 08 cts Caddilac

The compressor runs when you bypass the relay. And it blows cold air.

there are 3 switches that control the operation of the ac compressor . There is a high pressure switch that will not allow operation if the head pressure goes too high ( excessive gas-blocked system-tx valve condenser fan not working )There is a low pressure switch that stops the compressor when the gas has leaked out and is insufficient A thermostat that will not register and so will not switch on the compressor and finally ac compressors will not work unless both the ac switch and the blower are switched on. Have the system checked out by an accredited ac specialists.;l

HIGH PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH LOCATED ON AC COMPRESSOR DISCHARGE LINE LEADING TO THE CONDENSOR.THE HIGH PRESSURE CUTOFF SWITCH WILL CUT OFF THE AC COMPRESSOR IF SYSTEM PRESSURE RISES TO HIGH CAUSED BY RESTRICTION IN THE REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT OR OVERHEATED CONDENSOR.MAKE SURE COOLING FAN IS RUNNING WHEN THE AC SWITCH IS ON.THE COOLING FAN KEEP CONDENSOR COOL, IF COOLING FAN DONT RUN.YOUR AC WILL STOP BLOWING COLD AIR.HAVE THE REFRIGERANT SYSTEM CHECK OUT.MAKE SURE YOUR LOW SIDE PRESSURE IS 10 - 37 PSI. THE HIGH SIDE PRESSURE SHOULD BE 112 - 210 PSI. CHECK THE AC COMPRESSOR CLUTCH FUSE AND RELAY.

when it kicks on and off that means the unit is low on freon. You will need to have it recharged up with freon for the AC

put it on a special machine to weigh the amount of gas in the system by extracting it ,then refill to the correct weight of gas ,if still not working then work backwards looking for the feed and try to isolate the problem ,like the AC on switch and then the blower motor switch

I have a 91 dodge colt that the ac clutch is not engaging. All other parts of the ac are working. The ac compressor relay has voltage to the coil but the ground circuit from the engine control unit is not...

if the freon pressure is too high or too low there are two seperate pressure sensors that will disable the a/c clutch to prevent dammage to the compressor. You need to check (or have it checked, dangerous if you do not know how) the pressure on the high and low ports while you have you jumper wire in place and the a/c is running. PLEASE RATE MY solution as I am new on here, Thanks

Hi, oK ASSUMING THERE IS THE PROPER AMOUNT OF FREON IN THE SYSTEM (2.0 LBS) THE SYSTEM IS PROBABLY LOGIC LOCKED.THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN THE CADILLACS HVAC CLIMATE CONTROL HEAD GETS CONFUSED,USUALLY AFTER A RECHARGE.HERES WHAT U CAN TRY.REMOVE THE NEG BATTERY CABKE FOR 1 MINUTE,THEN RECONECT IT,START THE CAR AND PUT THE AC ON (60 DEGREES FULL FAN) THAT SHOULD DO THE TRICK HOPEFULLY. AC Low Pressure location on 2004 Chevy Suburban

You find the AC low pressure at the top of the compressor, orientated toward you , facing the front of the vehicle. You can also follow the compressor line to reach the port.

The valve is covered a plastic cap covering it.
Near the compressor you find two ports, the high port and low port.

To find out which one is the low port, run the air conditioner for a couple of minutes withthe engine on.
Then turn off the care and touch the lines from compressor to the two ports covered with plastic caps. Only one of the pipes will be cold, the cold line will lead you to the low port.

Regards.
