most any sensor going bad can cause the check engine light to come on,try disconnecting the posative battery cable for 15 seconds ,then put it back on,will reset the codes, or take it to auto zone,they will test your computer for codes at no charge to you.i had a venture van my was ox. sensor. thanks robert b.

Rent a scanner and do it yourself. If the scanner only delivers codes, you need a chart that tells what the codes mean. Follow the clues to repair the ailing components. The scanner can clear the light when the repairs are complete.

SOURCE: service engine soon light on.
This is a light which indicates that the odometer mileage is approaching a service interval. The service intervals are in the owner's manual.
The concept is you take the vehicle to the shop for routine preventive maintenance (and the mechanic resets the light until the next service interval approaches).
