You'll have to replace the gas line.

Basically you would need to cut off the filter and replace the farings and repair the fuel line and put a new filter in.

Ford Ranger overflow tank bubbling and overflowing, running hot, white smoke, after water pump failure.

The smoke could be the water boiling. Although it is possible that you blew the head gasket, if the vehicle overheated badly, It is also possible that you still have some air in the system. Replace the thermostat and seal /gasket and run the vehicle while adding coolant. Do not install cap on until both houses upper and lower are hot to the touch. This is an indication that the thermostat opened and coolant is actually circulating. Good luck.

My 88 Ranger with 2.0 carbureted engine won't start. It turns over and fires, has fuel, and is getting spark - it just won't take off and run. I have replaced the plugs, wires, coil, fuel filter, and...

I am currently having the same issue with my Wife's van....

You do not say what climate you are in, but my guess is that you are experiencing a cold weather problem.

You may have ice in your fuel line... often caused in the Winter by running the tank nearly empty then filling it, leading to condensation, then ice.

I am still working it out on the van with a "drygas" additive and starting it and letting it run every day or two, and it is getting a little better each day. You may like to try this approach, unless you can move it into a warm garage to speed things up.

Other approaches to heat up the fuel line are too dangerous to consider, IMHO.

79 chevy beauville fuel lines where is the fuel filter located

79 is carbureted...There is a 5/8" nut fitting on the end of the fuel line at the carb inlet. Use a 1" wrench to hold the nut on the carb fitting and a flair nut wrench to remove the smaller line nut. Then remove the 1" one. The fuel filter is right behind the 1" one. Be careful to keep it straight when replacing it. The carb metal is soft and strips out easily. Don't loose any seal rings there either.

Oil filter broke off

Absolutely its a common problem with the Quest the filter housing sits low with the filter and if you bottom out it can break. Fit a few myself. Best option go to the junk yard and buy the oil filter unit/housing unit. Just a few bolt and a seal and the job is done. Good Luck

try turning up the gas in the carb. gas runs real lean when you get up to high speeds, and lower even more when it heats up, so it would make sense.
