07 ram 5.7 No start 1 click Battery cleaned charged up tried on boost - still 1 click . New starter- ran Jumper wire to starter from battery- 1 click. What can it be ?

If the battery connections at the starter are secure it is likely the solenoid is defective on the new starter.

When attempting to start monitor the battery voltage. If the voltage only changes sightly still above 12 volts it is likely that the starter motor is not getting power. Confirm that the starter solenoid is being powered when attempting to start.

If
  • all battery connections to the starter are secure
  • and power is applied to the starter solenoid
  • and no crank above 12 volts
these combined conditions will confirm that the new starter is defective.

1994 honda civic, lights left on over night, got new battery and there is no power at all, no lights, nothing what can be stopping the power in a new battery

check the wire connections to earth , make sure the are clear of corrosion etc and tight , leave the ignition on for a few minutes then try to start , if still wont start try a jump start , even a new battery may be unservicable , if starts with a jump then take the battery back for it to be tested

1995 c180 key will turn the ignition all lights come on but car wont start

It's very likely that you need a new battery. The battery might have enough charge to power the lights but it takes a lot more power to start the car. Try jump starting the car, if that works then it's your battery- you need a new one.

Had starter checked ok when trying to start it just clicks by starter but lights are strong ,radio works

hi there
this is a bad battery it does not have enough power to start the car the lights and radio take hardly any power to run the battery can still have power to run those but if it does not have atleast 12.2-14 amps it will not start the vehical so new battery is needed befor you buy a new battery you can make sure the positive and negative cables are tight and making good contact also clean terminals baking soda and water will clean them try this befor getting new battery
hope this helps you have a great day

Why wont my chrysler new yorker start

It could be the battery. How old is the battery. They are only rated for so many years. Most batteries are rated for 5 years, however some cheap ones are rated for 2 years. After this time, the battery will lose some capacity meaning it will have the power to power things like cd player, lights, etc that do not require much power. However, to start the engine requires massive amounts of power that the battery can give out while under that year range. After the battery leaves this range, it does not have the capacity to start and engine. If you battery is old, and you suspect something like this might be happening, take the car to an auto store like Autozone. They should be more than happy to check you battery with their tool to see if it still has the capacity to start your engine. Hope this helps

94 z wont start

You will have to check, at the starter, for power to the SMALL wire on the starter solenoid (which is on the starter) when turning the ignition switch to start.
If there is power to this wire ( usually purple ) and power at the LARGE cable ( from the battery ) at the starter end.....you need a starter.

If you do not have power at the small wire at the solenoid with the key in start position and battery power is OK.....check the safety neutral switch.Moving the shifter around a little can sometimes allow the car to start if the neutral switch is worn.

A new battery does not always mean a fully charged battery.
Try a boost from another car before testing the starter for power.

The battery cables need to be clean and tight....and check the ground to the engine as well.

Everything else may work OK with bad connections, they don't use the power the starter needs to turn the engine over.

Try going to the starter and check for battery power on the larger wire from the battery if that has power have some one sit in the truck and hold the key in the start position and check for battery power on the smaller wire if this has power the starter is junk try and tap it with a hammer some thimes they will start
