Rpm spikes when im driving down the room my rpm spike up and come back down. my speed stays the same.

It sounds like the bands on the transmission are slipping if it is an automatic trans if it is a manual the clutch is slipping if auto take to dealer. if manual adjust the clutch cable out some it connects to the transmission with a thick cable near the bell housing tighten the cable to give it less play 3 or 4 turns

Sounds like your clutch disc is worn out and will need to be replaced.
