Your motor is probably bad. You can take door panel apart and gain access to the motor. Check wires; the wires both at the motor and the wires running through the door to the truck body. More likely the motor is bad.

Police interceptor. How can I make the rear power windows work again?

I suggest trying the following: put window down using switch on driver's door. Then hold passenger switch in the down position for 5 seconds. Then put window up using switch on driver's door. Then hold passenger switch in the up position for 5 seconds. Then turn off car and pull key. Put key back in and turn on power. Then test rear window switches to see if they reset.

It may be that the rear power window regulators/ switches have gone out for each door and need to be replaced. Also, check to make sure that power is being received at each switch. If no power, they can be tested by getting power independently to each one. If you are not a handy DIYer, getting them checked out by an experienced mechanic may be the best way to go.

I have a 1997 mercury sable gs, and the drivers window wont go up. Its power window, and I've had this happen before, and played with the window lock switch, and it would work again, but not this time

pull out the set of 4 switches and switch the wires from that window to a different switch to raise it then put the wires back in place and put switch panel back

What causes a power window on a 2001 durango to go down but not back up

Possible bad window switch. If the window motor were bad, or if power was not getting to the switch, the window wouldn't work at all. The switch should be tested for correct operation. Remove the switch and apply 12 volts to the power terminal of the switch. Then toggle the switch and use a 12 volt test light to confirm continuity on the up and down terminals. If it is defective, replace it with a new switch.

Back driver side window will not roll up. Has power windows.

well if will it roll up with any of the swithches driver main switch and or switch on that door if neither switch will put up that window then you going to need to replace your power window motor in the back door. always check your fuses and relays first thought

My rear defrost doesn't work. There is power to the switch but no power to the back window

check to see if power is coming out off switch to back window. if not switch is bad. try this if need be to find out if wire is broke. run a wire to back window from output on switch, touch or put it on defroster lug at back window. if it works then the main wire is bad, make sure all fuses and relays are ok. heres an eaiser way !! remove switch, jump from positive wire to wire going to back window. thats if wire is ok, to back window.

The back pasenger electric window of my 2006 dodge ram 3500 deisel wont go up.both the switch on the door and the switch on the driver control door dont work. checked the fuse box but found nothing labeled...

hi, there is a relay for the windows. in the fusebox (s) there should be a relay for each window. these relays do fail (open circuit on switch side). the feed POWER side may be shorted. these circuits are hard to find the fault, but check all the door relays. the motor can stick and put heavy current to blow the fuse, if you leave the engine OFF and put the ignition ON press the other window and listen for this relay noise. a click can be heard to pinpoint the location of other relays. once you find these switch relays to determin if these are working and use this to put the rear window back up. gerry

Window went down but will not come back up

Often the window motor will fail to have the ability to allow the window to come up after it lets it go down. Just in case test the switch. There is a power in line, ground and then power out for up and one for down. With the power on, put a test light on each leg of the switch. If you do not have a wire diagram, don't worry. The red will be power and black is usually ground, but if you put you light on power it will stay on. Then move it to the next leg. Put the switch in one direction. Test all three of the other legs. If the light goes on, not that leg, Put the switch in the other position, test the other two legs. If the light goes on, the switch is good and your motor is bad.

If you get no light on any leg, check the ground of the test light, and if you are sure the ground on the light is good, you have a bad motor.

Hope this helps.

Power Windows

take the door panal back off. Using a test light disconnect the window motor and run your test light across the two termails hook the switch up and run the switch up and down. If the light lights then the window motor is no good. If the light does not light check to see that there is power going to the switch. Another place to check is in the body to door pass throught sometime the wires brake there
