Question about 1999 Lincoln Continental

1 Answer

The engine starts right up, but then it immediately dies.

The car, a 1999 Lincoln Continental, always ran smoothly. Then several fuses were removed from the fuse box. After the fuses were replaced, the problem as described above began, and it hasn't run longer than just a few seconds since.

I would check the camshaft position sensor first when the fuses was taken out the car might have tried to be started and the sensor is telling it its not in time.

I ran over a big rock in the road. It went under car and hit undercarriage. The car engine stopped and would not restart like it was't getting gas.

trace your fuel line from your carb back to fuel tank, sounds like you have a severed fuel line. in either primary or return. it will start on starting fluid but won't continue to run without fuel.

1999 lincoln continental drivers power seat won't work

Could be any number of items related to the seat
power motor circuit

Start by removing & testing the switches

If modules are involved, then it will be beyond
your ability to diagnose ,without a trouble chart

Check any fuses that apply

If a fuse is blown,replacing it won't
likely fix the issue, only blow again

I had this problem last year with my LincolnI. I took it in and for 200 bucks I had to replace a wire that went out of my air suspension. Right after that it drove smooth again.

I have a 1997 Lincoln continental that has only started once in several days.It started after not running for a week - then quit after I ran it a short while and shut it off. It will not restart . Fuel...

First try pouring some gas down the throttle body. If it starts you may have a problem with your fuel system possibly a bad fuel pump. If it does not start you might have a prom with your ignition system. So check for spark. Also since you said it uses more fuel lately, you might have a broken diaphragm in your fuel regulator causing the engine to flood out. Disconnect the vacuum to the fuel fuel regulator to check for this. Good luck.
