Question about 2007 Mazda B2300
Here is an answer from an expert at just answer
By heater hose you mean near the water outlet/thermostat? That is it, I believe. I think it would be a good idea to clean the MAF, though it sounds like it will probably need replacing. It is fairly expensive, though, -and- there have been issues with "reman" units from the aftermarket not being correct in calibration. It can be cleaned, I have seen many issues with aftermarket oiled filters contaminating the MAF with a little film of oily dirt. Must use Brake cleaner, carb cleaner will damage it, and not a good idea to touch the small wires inside.
Do you have access to a scan tool? It would be a real good idea to actually look at the values for coolant temp, intake air temp- also, there could be an issue with the egr hanging open, hard to say without hearing it and scanning it myself. But you could try unplugging the EGR vacuum hose, see if it makes a difference. It is fragile, though, and you must be careful not to snap the plastic line.
Let me know-

check the fuel filter or a possible leak in the fuel line or vacuum lines.your exhaust could be clogged causing too much back pressure

You'll also need to change the steering box. The stock axle should be okay to use. Be careful hooking up the new box and make sure it is centered, the same number of turns to the stop when you turn it left or right. Also make sure the pitman arm is the same length, on the Ranger, so the front end isn't out of whack, and check the clearance at the radiator and fan. Hope this helps.
