Firest you need the door panel removed to tell if you are going to need the motor and or the window regulator assembly. Both are somewhat difficult to check and replace . Wouldn't recomend It unless your quite talented and patient. I do this for a living and this particular vehicle starts off with a hidden screw that can be in a couple places. If you do tackle it behind the inside door handle assembly there is a screw thats hard to find its inside the door after handle is removed. An autobody repair center can perform this repair in less than an hour and a half and aftermarket parts from the zone or advanced are quite inexpensive. Hopp this helps ...gl..dc

You may be under warranty so check that out first. You are having problems either with the window "regulator" or the window motor. You can check out a glass shop if you do not want to go to the dealer. The repair involves taking the inside door panel off and replacing either part.

Replace the regulator/motor combo in your door. Not a fun project but do-able for the able do-it-yourself'er. You can buy a Dorman branded aftermarket unit from Carquest or Napa. Stay away from the CSK/O'reilly's and Autozone stuff - they are ****. Also stay away from mail-order or online items from SPAL. They are also terrible quality as well.

Hope that helps. Nothing else will solve this problem without first replacing that unit and lubricating the tracks while you have it apart with a good sil-glyde or white lithium grease.

On the tranny there are input and output speed senors,it sounds like your input speed sensor went bad, this was a very common problem for those cars, and not very expensive to fix. The car is stuck in what they call limp mode.

2003 Buick Century - window problem

I've had a similar problem with my 2003 Buick Century. In my case, the driver's side front window one day went up and would not come down. I knew that the switch was malfunctioning by sticking in the up position since the window continued up despite the fact that Iet off the switch when the window was half way up and it continued going up. I had to pull over and pull the master switch assembly from the door panel and unplug it to prevent the window motor from being damaged by the constant power feeding it after the window was up. Basically, it would have burned the motor out. I cleaned the switch and it now works fine most of the time. I still need to replace the assembly. Not sure this is the reason in your case. I would check the back window and see if it goes down with the switch on the back door panel. If it does, then you are having problem with the master switch assembly on your front door panel. Moisture from rain from the window being down during rain or dirt may have corroded the switches' contacts.

A car I owned the left rear window did that. I could pull it up by taking a hold of it while another person held the switch. They told me the problem was the track was made out of plastic and it had broken. They had to replace the track. Yes it was expensive to repair but is ok now.

Clunking and shuttering 1998 Olds Intrigue

sounds like a bad cv shaft. If there is clicking while making a turn, 90% of the time you will need a new cv shaft. The shudder also denotes a bad cv shaft (front axle) Most axle repairs cost up to $400. If you are charged more, find a new mechanic. if the car feels like it floats back and forth (side to side) Be sure to check the control arm bushings. If you are not sure how to inspect them, visit a service center. Any problem in the suspension should be addressed immediatley. Stay safe.
