most of the more modern instrument clusters are solid state meaning theres pretty much nothing to fix on then when they break unless your good with electronics repair, its easyer to just replace the unit with one out of a salvage yard.

GM products around that time had defective instrument clusters, you can find an aftermarket refurbished unit a lot cheaper than the dealer but there may be a recall at the dealership you'll have to call the service department and give them your VIN. but if there's a recall you should get it fixed for free.

After disconnect and reconnect the battery of my opel antara, the indication of odometer displays only 888... for all indications. How can i reset it?


This solution will be of great help to you,even in the case of future or other dashboard problems;
Instrument cluster consists of electronic analog gauges, various warning lights, and optional tachometer. Vehicles equipped with tachometer have an electronic vacuum fluorescent transmission range indicator (PRND3L),odometer and trip odometer display. Vehicles without tachometer are equipped with a cable-operated transmission range indicator.
Instrument cluster is equipped with the following warning lights:
Battery voltage.
Cruise (speed control).
Door ajar.
Fasten seat belt.
Lift gate ajar.
Low fuel level.
Low windshield and washer level.
Traction Control.
The Body Control Module (BCM), which receives input from various sensors, sends display information to instrument cluster and operates gauges. Instrument cluster incorporates a self-test diagnostic feature to identify electronic problems. BCM, Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and Transmission Control Module (TCM) are continuously monitored by the diagnostic system.

SELF-DIAGNOSTICS
With ignition off, press and hold TRIP and RESET buttons while turning ignition switch to ON position. Continue to hold TRIP and RESET buttons until odometer window displays CODE (approximately 5 seconds). If problem exists, system will display diagnostic trouble codes. See DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHART table. If no problem exists, Code 999 (end test) will be displayed.

My nissan Almera S reg has no side lights or dash lights.All fuses seem ok.

Shift Indicator on 2005 Chevy Tahoe is dim, or dark


Likely a bad sodder joint on the board. Disassemble the cluster (find instruction on YouTube) and resodder the two primary connections for the indicator LED group. These are the ones on the ends which are doubled-up. Resodder from backside of board.

07 suburban DIC not working and shift indicator very dim, shows sometimes.


{: ) There is an internal circuit fault on your instrument cluster. The messages will display sometimes, at times dim or none at all. The usual fix is to replace your IPC (instrument panel cluster).
A new replacement IPC will be of later model versions, and it will be programmed to your vehicle.

The dashboard light is very dim and the light is out by the gear shift, where can I locate the switch if there is any to brighten the lights?


The is an adjuster light that lightens or darkens your instrument cluster. As for the gear shift light, that is a bulb that is located behind your instrument cluster.

Speedometer dont work

Dash board is digital and the dash lights went out seeking information on how to remove the dash board console 1993 chevy blazer tahoe LT


Remove the 5 mounting screws from the instrument cluster trim plate and remove the trim plate. Remove the 4 mounting screws from the instrument panel face plate and remove the face plate.Remove the instrument light grid from the center of the cluster. From behind the instrument cluster reach behind the speedometer and disconnect the speedometer cable by releasing the tab. Pull the cluster forward just enough to detach the "check engine" light bulb from the center of the cluster. Remove the instrument cluster from the dashboard.

gm has problems with the gauge clusters if you have less than 75,000 miles the dealer should replace for free under the recall they issued
