1997 Buick LeSabre rear passenger always stays wet

I thought you were telling our story.

One day I got in our car and there was a lot of water that seemed to run from the back to the front.
My husband worked on a plastic shield that goes under the hood over top of the heater vent. There was a seal on it that seemed to be coming off. So my husband took it out and resealed. I havn't gotten the water out yet but we are hoping this is the solution.

Is that the piece that the other person was talking about

I have a used 97 Buick Lesabre in occassionally water appears - soaking
the floor carpet, Sometimes both front and rear. It seemed the problem was more on
the passenger rear side. There was no smell of anti-freeze and there
is anti-freeze in the cooling system.

I wet-vacuumed out about a quart of water several times.
I get the floor carpets mostly dry, but then it rains again for several days.

    We had several more days
of rain, and more water soaked the floor carpets, mostly on the
driver's side. The amount was less than previously.
This now happens everytime it rains.
Yesterday (Jun 22, 09) My husband took the black piece under the windshield blade. The plastic piece that covers the heater vent off because the flap that goes over top of the heater vent was coming lose from the seal. He just resealed the one that was there. Can you tell me if this seems like the problem.
This is my first time on here. I won't refer to someone else's post.
    Thank you,
    Sandy & JOe

Take your plastic shroud off between hood and front winshield . clean out leaves and deris so rain water or any water can drain out under front fenders instead of inside your car. water can and will damage your resistor module next to your heater blower fan. one example of this is fan works only on high speed only ..

IF YOU HAVE A SUNROOF, ONE OF THE DRAIN TUBES MAY HAVE CAME OFF. YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE INTERIOR TO GET THE WATER OUT OF THE CARPET MATTING. YOU MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE MATTING. IF THE MATTING IS NOT REPLACED OR DRIED PROPERLY IT WILL MILDEW AND STINK.

USE A WATER HOSE TO CHECK FOR A LEAK, START LOW AND WORK YOUR WAY UP. CHECK THE BODY SEAMS, WINDSHIELD, SUNROOF, AND ANY OTHER AREAS YOU MIGHT THINK ARE LEAKING.

Location of crank sensor on 1997 lesabre

The crank sensor should be on the passenger side of the engine. It probably won't be visible without first removing the power steering reservoir, and possibly other items on that side of the engine. It is located down below near the waterpump pulley.

Rear defroster lights up, but does not defrost, also very weak car radio reception.

Between the rear passenger window and the back window is a junction where rear defrost wiring and radio antenna connect. Rear defrost wiring becomes loose and burns this unit out. when looking for replacement at salvage yard everyone of them I found had burned up. Lots of La Sabres w/o working rear defrost. I made solid connections for defroster, and added an antennae, not much point in repeating a system that will fail again.

Water is draining inside the car on the passenger side when I run the air. When I take a right turn it leaks onto the drivers side. I am wondering where the drain hose is located. 1997 Buick LeSabre

find the rubber drain hose under the hood, coming out of the fire wall, its stopped up, clear or cut a little bit off the end of the hose.

Wet rear floor

I had a similar issue and found that the two rear drain holes for the sun roof came off and any water was running down into the trunk and also the rear floor was always wet. I pulled the rear of the roof panel down to expose the rubber tubes, re-seated them with glue so they would not come off again.
