Vehicles are designed with a wide open throttle cutout, which means that under high load demand, accessories are temporarily shut off to give the driver as much horsepower as needed for passing, climbing hills, etc... You will notice the A/C cutting out if the passing attempt takes full throttle for more than just a few seconds.

Where is the passing gear on a 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante

'Passing gear' is a term that means the transmission is down-shifted to a lower gear (e.g., from 5th gear to 4th gear) for improved acceleration to pass another vehicle. There is no physical component called a passing gear in the transmission.
To engage the 'passing gear' with an automatic transmission should require nothing more than pressing the accelerator pedal down firmly. The transmission should downshift automatically to the next lower gear (sometimes it will downshift two gear ratios, depending on your speed and how far you depress the accelerator pedal).

My truck is a 95 chevy silverado 1500 it cuts off in 1st gear

Does it seem like when the engine is cold it runs ok, then when it reaches operating temp. it starts acting up? (poor acceleration, stalling) When I had that problem w/ my 93 K1500, it ended up being my oxygen sensor. (causing too rich of a mixture in the throttle body)
Hope this helps, Good luck

"87' Dodge Ram" The passing gear that is attached to my carburetor, makes my accelerator extremely tense. If it was unhooked what would be my results from this?

What you call a passing gear is in fact a kick down cable and should only work when you push the accelerator to the floor. It increases engine rpm at the same time it shifts the gears back a gear to allow for acceleration. If you unhook it then there will be no shift of the gear so you will be struggling in the drive gear and it will be useless. . Fix and adjust the cable and you will find that it works really good.

Major hesitation at cold idle, car accelerates at a slow pace, hesitation also appears when in passing gear. replaced fuel filter 2 months ago

symtoms of a bad coolant sensor: poor car idle, rich mixture, retarded timing, slow idle speed, cold hesitation or stumble, poor fuel milage, check and make sure air filter is clean. and check plugs and wires if need be,

Engine over-run between gears

This is a very common problem for ford. I have the same thing every day. It is the computer not reading the temp. When it does that just tap the gas pedal.

Why does my 2000 dodge neon violently **** when i'm in passing gear

If the car is not getting into passing gear at all, check the kickdown cable from the throttle body to the transmission, to see if it's broken or binding. Also check the throttle body itself for smooth operation.

If those are okay, then check the throttle position sensor for proper output voltage. That should have thrown error code 24 if it failed.

As you pointed out, your engine has a rev limiter to prevent engine overspeed. As you approach redline rpm's, it will cut the fuel supply. If this is happening at lower rpm's than it should, then the limiter itself could be in trouble.

I hope this helps.
