Question about 1996 Ford Mustang

2 Answers

I bought a wiring harness to connect to my new sterio. They gave me two harnesses but only one fits. The one that fits doesn't have the wires to connect to the speakers. It only has the 12v antenna, 12v on/off, ground wire, and antenna control. It also has an orange/black wire, orange and white, and orange wire. The package didnt say what these other wires were. Can Anyone help?

Be real careful putting in the aftermarket stereo due to some of the wires runs your entire car. The alarm, interior lights and power locks. It is best to have it install by professionals.

If they gave you the right one, then you should have two seperate plugs from the original radio. you may have to follow the wires down several inches to find the other plug connection. good luck.

ok it sounds like the wrong harness. go to scosche.com and enter your vehicle info. they should tell you exactly what you need.

You'll need the electrical wiring diagram for that. You can also buy a universal harness where you bought your sterio with the adapter kit.

I need to change the head unit in my 1990 Buick Century, but the wire harness the mechanics gave me doesn't fit?

The connectors for all GM oem radios for this car/year are the same. The place that sold you the new radio should be able to provide a patch cable with a connector at one end that fits the aftermarket radio, and one or more connectors at the other end that fit into the connectors in your car. If you can't get that patch cable from them, try sonicelectronix.com. These cables are usually unique to the brand of your aftermarket radio. Although it's a bit late, It's a good idea to check that these patch cables are available from the seller before buying the radio.
If you can't find a patch cable and the cable that came with the new radio has no connector(s) on one end, you will need to splice those wires to the correct wires going to the old radio connector, and for that you will need the wiring diagram for both your car and the new radio. You should be able to get the wiring schematics for your car from Alldatadiy.com, and your new radio should have come with a connector pinout description.

Can not find wiring harness for '95 lincoln towncar

If you cant find the wiring harness i'd suggest you snip the adapter of and join the wires up *Correctly of course*

Modern CD players normally have a sticker or information on which wire does what on the CD player.

You just have to work out the ones on the Lincoln then.

DON'T REMOVE FACTRORY CONNECTORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spend $15 and buy a wiring kit. It plugs right into your vechile wires and the kit tells you what wires are what. Splicing the wires will lead to headaces down the road!!!
