Question about 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier
Engine load shows it is in gear but tranny stuck in park in all gears including neutral
Have you checked your brake pads and calipers to be sure they are not seized ?

You need to remove top off gearbox and with a pry bar or screw driver pull the selector back into neutral Your gearlever has popped out of selector Gearbox does not need to be removed
