The compressor is not kicking on, first make sure the controls are all on their highest/coldest settings, then look for unplugged wires/ blown fuses, then look for your low pressure switch. If any of these are not correct/ unplugged then it will never take any freon and get it circulating in your system. The very last thing to look at too is to put a guage from the refill can on the charge port and make sure you are not overcharged, too much freon can cause the same problem.

whats' the procedure for checking the low pressure switch to see if it is good or bad

the low pressure should have 2 prongs, unplug it and take a jumper wire and plug it into the connector on both prongs, if the compressor kicks on and you are not overcharged then you have a bad low pressure switch. If it doesn't kick on then you have a bad fuse, bad ac clutch relay, or a bad compressor

we have replaced the compressor, dryer, expansion valve. Taken the evaporator core out and cleaned and flushed it. Replaced the condensor pulled a vaccumm. The vaccumm holds pressure. I put a new air conditioner switch on the inside of the car. Now I want to gas the air conditioner. Hooked the gauges up on the low and high side, opened the valve on the low side and punctured the can to let the freon in. The freon that I got in was liquid like water. And now I cannot get the compressor on yet. That is why I am asking. I have checked all the fuses and relay.

Have to have a shop with a/c experience work on a/c

All you will do is hurt yourself & ruin the system

You don't add refrigerant in an attempt to make it work

If you have to add,it leaked out for a reason,so all your
doing is poluting the atmosphere, have the system repaired

Refrigerant goes in the system under a vacuum

Have to know what your doing to add to a pressurized system

Are you trying to [put in on the compressed gas side . IT has to go in the suction side of the ac compressor. If you need to add gas then there must be a leak in the system that has to be fixed first. I know that it all seems too easy but for a lasting job have an accredited ac specialist do the job as you will be just wasting hard earned cash

1998 gmc truck ac problem I put 2 cans of freon ac pump wont turn on it a few miles then it turn on maybe 10 mminutes driving

if you had to put 2 cans of freon in the ac system then you have wasted your money and time as there is a big leak that the gas is escaping from
ac systems will last forever and require no additional gas if the system is intact but as soon as it needs gas , there is a leak that has to be fixed first
problem you have described is most probably too much gas to start with and the high pressure switch turns the compressor off
then when enough gas leaks out the compressor will run until the low pressure switch switches off as there is not enough gas in the system

Air condisoner stop working on Toyota corolla89years

It may have leaked out all its Freon gas. If it uses Freon it will not be able to be re-gassed as Freon puts a hole in the ozone layer of the atmosphere. It is expensive to get an air-conditioner re gassed if it uses ozone destroying gas as the new gas is different and the air conditioner needs to be modified to run the newer gas if the Corolla is a older model. Could be compressor has gone faulty. but to replace it will mean it will have to be re-gassed.

How to put a freon into a 2011 Buick Lacrosse car?

there is an exact amount of gas to put in the system and if there is insufficient gas as you think then it would be advisable to have the system checked out for leaks otherwise you will not achieve anything.. Take it to an accredited auto air conditioner shop and save money.

When i turn on my air conditioner in my 1999 durango it blows out hot air. can i put in antifreeze myself or do i need to take to the dealership?

Antifreeze is only for the radiator, does not affect the air conditioner, make sure you have the setting on cold, if it is still hot than take it to your local air conditioner re gas station, most auto electricians do it, dealerships usually send them out which you end up paying extra for!!! You just need a re gas in your air conditioner.

My daughter's 2000 Dodge Neon's air conditioner wasn't cooling very sell so she took it in to have freon added. The shop drained all the freon out and then tried to add new freon but none will go into the...

you need the compressor running to get freon into the system
using gauges on a manifold you allow the compressor to suck the gas in to the system until you get a pressure reading at the high side gauge
That is the correct amount of gas for the system
take it to an accredited ac specialist shop to have the job done properly

Air conditioner compressor not turning on bought a new compressor last year it is full of freon/the new stuff

hopefully when they regassed it with the new freon they put dye in the system if the gas has leaked out somewhere slowly this will stop the compressor from working as the have a back pressure release valve, when the pressure isnt high enough the compressor will not engage. you may need to take it in to have them check the pressure in your system.
